You did pretty well. You'll need to remove the flak vest and metal staff from your gear, and you should have a sword in there somewhere.
Also, did you spend 500 EXP in each careers?

The character generator only allowed me to put 400 EXP in each career, but it should be simple to add the extra EXP in (if I knew how).

Also, instead of a sword I chose a hammer, which should be okay for a guardsmen.

Yeah.
You don't need the character generator to get advancements and such. Look through the 'Careers' section of the rulebook, and spend 500 EXP in Guardsmen and 500 EXP in Tech Priest.
Also, you can write your own back story, and your career title should be Guardsman (Tech Priest)

...So I can modify my melee weapon for free or do I still make the Requisition check?
Since that was the last post on the last page...
And anyway, I assume I'd have to pay like 15 thrones for a can of recaf and 30 for a writing kit?

I'll use a d6 to decide who has the medicae ability, unless someone buys it.
However, I don't think any career allows you to get medicae at rank 1.

I plan on picking Medicae when I get 200 XP since it's available at Outcast Scum Rank.

Quote
I'm going to do something creative is regards to getting new items, because you're all in the Imperial Guard.
We're going to use Requisition, which functions very similarly to Profit Factor.
Requisition starts at 20, and goes up by 1d3 for every mission completed.
When you want new equipment such as armor, or weapons, you roll 1d100 to see if you can get it from the Adeptus Ministorum clerk. If you roll under the Requisition score, you get the item. Requisition can not be modified by rareness.
When you want a new miscellaneous item, such as Amasec, or Iho-Sticks, you do normal Dark Heresy style purchases, but at a +10 modifier.
You can only get augmetics and things like rebreaathers if you get injured, and you get them free of charge at at Good quality.
For things like weapon upgrades, you do Requisition rolls. However, if is for a melee weapon, you trade in your current weapon, and you either wait a mission to get the upgrade to that weapon, or get a newly crafted one with the upgrades that you selected.

How does this system work with the Inquiry and Barter skills?

EDIT: Also, I guess we're all part of the same Regiment? That means our group had to be merged together after a major battle or recruited individually since when a regiment is created it's drawn from a single planet (with reinforcements being done via mergers, in-regiment births, or recruiting on the regiment's own initiative). How does that work for us with a Vostroyan First Born? They're pretty much the only exceptions and bring planet-born reinforcements for the First Born regiment. One of the many clerical errors on the part of the Imperial bureaucracy?

Why yes, I have been reading up on the Imperial Guard for this.

Wait, we have to get shot if we want a rebreather? I have no hope for us if we get sent anywhere without a breathable atmosphere.

Well, the Rogue Trader Corebook defines the implants Techpriests and Explorators could receive include replacing the lower half of their face with a rebreather.

Might as well give it to me also, I may want to see it if I want an alternate rank.

Yes, but you need both Melee and Ranged Two-Weapon Fighting.
