Haven and Hearth-- World 5
« on: July 29, 2011, 02:28:20 am »

Since the last thread seems to be pretty bogged down, here's a new one. It seems like there is no "one" Bay12 city, and that we are instead mostly scattered about, branched off in mini-camps. I thought it'd be nice to have a list of all Bay12 cities (all who wish to be seen, anyways) on the OP, so that any prospective players can have a better idea of where we all stand, and where to join if they'd like to be around some fellow dorfs. Also, I'll put any helpful links I (or any following posters) think would benefit a new player on the bottom of the post.

Bay12 groups (Any other groups who want their name on the OP, post a reply of what you want in your town description):

Helpful links:

*btw, Permission to make a new HnH post was received from the OP of the last HnH thread.

I pretty much consider BN to be "the" b12 village in the game, but...

The Marches are about 50% DF players.  We are pretty much under constant attack in an area that few other villages last more than a week or so.  But hey. Losing is fun!

I used to monitor the Haven and Hearth forums fairly closely, but for a year I stopped keeping up to date. Are they still updating this game as frequently as they used to (worlds 1, 2, 3)? Their announcements page seemed sort of.. unkempt last I checked. How bad are griefers these days? And metal monopolies? What about playing alone, can one experience the majority of the content without having a group of friends?

Devs have pretty much stopped working on the game for now, due to a combination of factors, but they promise they will be back later.
Griefers depend on area.  Everywhere is "bad", some places are god-awful.  Metal monopolies are gone, you can find metal pretty much anywhere these days....smaller pockets spread around and 10 levels down.
Playing alone, you could see pretty much all the content, yes, but it would take longer.

Ahh good to know, thanks for the update. I'm always tempted to play again, it's such a great game, but so time consuming.. and so painful when your neighbor turns out to be an anti-social axe murderer.

ya know, if anyone wants to join, i could accept some applications.

Just be aware that our village is under constant attack.  Its like starting a fort on a terrifying glacier....and then digging too deep.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I was trying to put a bit more focus on b12 cities that are still mostly open to welcoming new guys. If you'd like, I can throw some info that you post of your city on the OP  :)

there's a bottleneck in world 5?  No fucking way.  I don't believe you, simply due to the fact that I am insulted that no one told me.  Just joking mostly, but I was about 90% sure bottleneck died horribly this world.  Either way, eek would you mind pming me your coordinates for the world map.  If you are close enough I can trade you curios and some q57 rock, q37 clay and stuff for a basic pickaxe.

Kilikan: We have access to a cave, but none of us have prospecting yet >.>. Nor do we know where exactly we are on the world map. I'll keep you updated, though  :)

There is, but it's not really a B12 faction any more. Most of the B12 people quit, and some non-B12 people joined.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

Constructive.

Oh well, everyone already knows why people are sad sacks about w5. Some like it, some don't.

Good luck with your towns.
