Ok so I'm on windows 7, the thing opens fine, but nothing comes up, the program runs, and  can see things happening in that little hover-over box on the task bar.  I just can't get it to actually bring the window up.  Anyone have a similar problem and possibly fix?

Someone had a similar issue on vista earlier. I'm not totally sure what the problem is yet, but the next version has tweaks which may have made the compatibility situation better.

I tried using a different computer and got a (slightly different) problem.  I think your game hates me.

Plant cells are in the advantage, somehow the food-cells don't eat often enough or something.

I did get a nice multilayered aquarium though, due to mutations in buoyancy.

how do you set buoyancy? Also, what are the dead mass and dead space settings?

Buoyancy only applies in Aquarium-mode, btw.

That's what I get if I add any photosynthetic cell with connections and weapons.  :P

Well I just added a few cells and left them to it... They are also genderless.

Well humans have 2/3, and when we can make sustainable food stuffs from chemicals we will be the perfect beings!

Neat toy.

The only stable system I've managed so far starts with only two species. One that photosynthesises and one that scavenges from the plants above. They both share energy and connect with their own species.

After a little while the scavengers (pink) nearest their food source (green) evolved to connect with anything. They seem to be doing well for this but it might be my imagination. The scavengers keep getting break away species that tend not to last so long (see in pink and red).

I've tried introducing a predator into the mix and having the pink cells fall to the bottom but the predator always takes over completely. Any tips?

I've got the dead mass at 0 and they float in the middle. Is it possible to get things floating nearer the surface?

YAY! NEW VERSION!!!

EDIT: Things seem to be a lot more smooth now. All these cells descended from one single cell. No more homogeneous mess.
