I'm not sure whether to redesign it to be less...distracting... or just go for it and build the cerne abbas dwarf.

Actually I've just thought of my next mega-project, a 300ft stone colossus of a naked dwarf that pisses magma on invaders.
I think that would perfectly capture the true dwarfen soul.

Not dwarven enough.  It needs to cry water as well in order to flood the map.

Not dwarven enough.  It needs a pansy elf making a plaintive gesture to cry water as well in order to flood the map.

Two things: One; If it's doing that, it cant pee magma as well. Two; Why the hell would you build a statue of an elf?  You seem a bit tall for a dwarf, by the way...

It needs to be a dwarf in a victorious pose, hands high and crying tears of joy as he pees liquid fire upon those beneath it.  THAT's a dwarven monument to their civilization.  And the entire fort, 200 dwarves, needs to be able to live comfortably inside it. Workshops, stockpiles and all.
