No, because they have the Veteran of the Long War trait. All Legion stuff counts as one less rarity. So extremely becomes very, nearly unique becomes extremely, etc. Also, remember that if you are merely getting one item, you get a +10 to get it, which is crucial here, because that means you can get a pair of single extremely rare items from the start.

If you are merely getting one item so you can have the +10, then you can only get one item no matter your infamy bonus, I think.
Ah well, I'm not one to complain, because hey, two free weapons.

Also, by the rules, you could get a Power Sword with Ammo Glutton, making it only Scarce. Would that have any effect? Not that I'm taking one, as I can just get a normal one with no downgrades at start.

Yes, that is true, you can get that. Presumably it uses up ammunition from another weapon.

Also, remember that as a Space Marine, you start off with proficiencies in Legion weapons. That means you can use a legion power sword, but not a normal power sword.

News, you may have misread the spike entry. it nly damages people who it you in melee on a spike covered part, and if on the arms, counts as always having a knife.

I understand how Legion Weapons Training works.

Anyway, going with a Legion Chain Axe, and a Legion Chain Fist.
Chain weapons are Khorne's favorite.

So here's my dilemna. I can either get Terminator armour and be very slow, or I can get two cybernetic implants which allow me to guarantee a sucess on charm if we aren't suffering any penalties.

What to choose...
