no idea. I'm not speculating and I respect both groups too much to ever do so. The important thing is that they are both doing extremely well!

Heh, I meant it the other way.

They're being too classy to comment and it would be nice if others would follow their example :)

Sorry, classy was not part of my unbringin'

Plus I'm just generally curious. Alex went of his way to be community manager for Towns, and about a dozen other things. But I'll drop it.

Ill just post this here (below) to maybe sway away the tone and theme of the discussion. generally, hemmingjay is correct, alex went to work with gamersgate's indiefort which is shaping up to be an interesting project aimed to help other indie developers interact, find and work with each other.

Some of the towns forum players have been progressed with their towns significantly:

An old sketchup project of mine which died with my last computer was revived by a user in towns:

My creation. but shame for me, i have cheated and modded the game to be more like a painting tool rather than a building game to make this:

Deons little town. surprisingly, i find the little towns even more beautiful than the massive ones.

For the next patch, we have made new way to build. Players could grow a certain tree which when fully grown up will be a home to the elven heroes.

I love it! The most important part of this is that heroes now retreat from fights, which makes them slightly more useful. I would love to see better pathfinding on them in the future if at all possible, since now they have trouble exploring dungeons.

Also, any chance to have a way to see how much food I have stockpiled?

Thanks hemmingjay.
The best way to see the food you have stored is open the production panel, go to the desired food and check the centered white number over the icon.

Wow, an epic update, thank you! :)

Heroes not going to rest was really a sad experience. Thanks for that (and equipment drop).

I'd really appreciate some tips on food production from someone before I try playing this again.

I got it in that bundle awhile back and had several settlements fraught with starvation issues.

Unless it's easier now?  To get food that is.

it is easier to manage food now. Till 20 squares of grass and plant wheat. make 3 mills right next to it and set automatic production to something around 10 wheat initially and keep bread production also around 10-15.
This isn't optimized but it will allow you to play with it without worrying. Always setup your carpenter first and then food. Everything else can wait.

I am sure it is...just gotta scrounge the money up. Making $7.50 an hour at my horribly shitty job is not exactly something that allows a lot of room to buy games with =P lowest paying job I have ever had in my life lol...only keep it cause its not part time.

Trying to get promoted...which would give me a $2-$4 raise. Then I will be much better off.
