Slim craze?!  Everybody I know tells me I'm going to die if I don't eat more.  Oh gog I had a dream last night where people were shoving bulkup protein shakes at me, it was a nightmare.

Due to my passive-aggressive manner whenever we have family dinners I eat more than everybody on purpose.

I don't think that's modern feminists so much much as certain feminists. I've met plenty of modern feminists who aren't like that at all. And really, you get those sort of people in any ideological movement.

And yeah, there are definitely a number of feminists who are less "women should be able to live how they want to" and more "women should be able to live how I want them to".

It's also not a very fitting analogy, as men have a much wider set of appearances they're "allowed" to look like and less pressure on them in general appearance-wise.

Cursory googling tells me that 1% of men in USA do steroids, which is less than 3% of US women getting breast augmentation. But that is still an unreasonably high number if you assume that men aren't under pressure to look "good" (roids actually make you butt ugly IMO).

While the second part may be true, I'm not sure about the first part. Clothing-wise, women seem to have a lot more acceptable varieties and ways to express themselves, especially in formal settings. With a guy, it's a suit and dress shoes or nothing, but I've seen women in suits, women in a wide variety of dress styles and cuts, etc. and so on with no problems. I've been to plenty of clubs that have a strict dress code - for guys. But women can where whatever they want, and end up having a ton of variety.

And I can think of just as many popular women "types" (visually), as I can for men.

If anything, the appearance pressure on women makes them more likely than men to try to "stand out" in some way.

Obviously the forces on both groups aren't the same, and the forces on men are often more in the direction of "accrue power to be sexy" rather than "get surgery to be sexy", but the forces saying "be sexy by whatever means possible" are there in both directions in differing amounts.

If there was a way to get "muscle implants", I can guarantee you men would be ALL OVER that shit.

I don't think that is true at all if you are coming from a frame of reference based on popular media.
