Deus Ex Human Revolution Beta Leak
« on: June 03, 2011, 01:02:29 am »

Apparently there's been a beta leak on Deus Ex 3. It's hilarious. What's with all these leaked betas lately?

I think it may be the company leaking them. You know, so you think "WOW! If the beta's this good, I wanna own the REAL game!"

It's not the beta. It's the reviewer version.

Also, the first neverwinter nights leaked on purpose as well.

Another interesting twist is that Eidos Montréal are actively encouraging discussion of the "leaked" review version on the official forums.

Tell me about it. Everything is "leaked" these days.

I swear that Activision is incapable of releasing a game without something getting "leaked".

It's better than companies spending hundreds of millions on advertising, rather than putting that money into the game itself.

(Yes, I'm looking at you, just about every AAA game to have come out in the last 5 years)

It's funny, I see lying about a game that they leaked themselves as more ethical then spending money on advertising...

So far, this game's reminding me a lot of Alpha Protocol.

There're some seriously questionable design choices, though. Like trying to shoot a sniper rifle from behind cover.

Right-click to go into cover (Hold it) + Direction key to look over cover (Hold it) + Middle-click to go into aiming mode (Release) + Left-click

I'm holding two buttons there AND having to click the middle button then left-click. It's very console-port-ish, but I don't think it'd even work well on a console.

Free publicity, free feedback... smoothly done, Eidos. Smooth.

Also, I'm lolling at some serious physics bugs. It's like I'm playing Unreal Tournament all over again.

Strafe + Forward = 150% movement speed. :p

Really?  It's not like console-portitis killed the second game.

...Just kidding, there was no DX2.  That game doesn't (deserve to) exist.

All the games that appeared during the transition of PC games porting to Console show a sad history of fail.

Now they come back to haunt us. Fucking consoles.

Thing is, a lot of those games are pretty decent if you play them on a console.  Ya need different tools for different jobs.
