You check the HUD.
To the left are a bunch of buttons. They are obviously the controls for the camera.
The rest is a bunch of icons labelled SELECT, REVISE, DEPLOY, PHERNALIA REGISTRY, GRIST CACHE, EXPLORE ATHENEUM, and ALCHEMY EXCURSUS.
The function of the first three seem semi-obvious, but you have no idea what the others mean.

[5]Luckily, the INTERNET has all the information you'll need. All of it.
SELECT enables you to select items and move them around.
REVISE allows you build and modify your CLIENT's home.
DEPLOY, well, deploys a variety of machinery.
The PHERNALIA REGISTRY so far is empty, but apparently it has something to do with ALCHEMIZING.
The GRIST CACHE shows you the amount of building material your CLIENT has. So far he only has 20 BUILD GRIST.
The ATHENEUM is also empty, and will later act as a library for alchemized items.
The ALCHEMY EXCURSUS confuses you though, since you barely understand any of the lingo used.
