So, I was having nice drink, taking break from telling workers where to build arrow-holes, when Strosllonkus is run up to me, all shouting and stuff!

It not even have a picture of Yarsniff on it! I just about to get someone to chop Flibeekis' hands off, but then I think, "Yah, maybe we makes more, trades them, for lots of shinies?" I going to be the best, most famous kobold ever! Makes big shiny statues, and spikes for stupid dwarfs when they come! I tell Flibeekis, "You go backs work, make more, no stop if you fingers bleed! Need more!" She no complain, she think she fancy artist now. Stupid Flibeekis.

In other things, I told the workers to build special arrow-holes on all the walls, for shooting through. Keeps out all we don't like, yes.

Disaster!! Guys, quick, I need computer-y expertise HALP!!
I was running two copies of DF at once, bla bla bla, and it ended up overwriting my Gakruldus save-- All of it!
I know there's a way to restore a computer to its 'earlier state', restoring all data and such, but I have no idea how, please help me guys! D:

Unfortunately, I don't believe you can with most files. It usually only creates a backup when installing major things/installing at all.

Well if you didn't bother with backups (and you would know if you did) then there's no clear way.
And you'll definitely not be able to restore all data, because your files are not just deleted but overwritten.

Well, you could always start over and just pretend the stuff you recorded still happened (editing certain bits for accuracy). Shouldn't take too long to get back to where you was.
