Oh. Right. I had in mind the no-entropy universe of Tron, for some reason...

About 5 minutes after i started playing and 7 big burly dwarfs ran away from a badger.
Let me say, I have caught rattle snakes, scared off a mountain lion, a couple of bobcats and eat least 5 different bears (no, none of those things were at once.)

I found a badger near where I was camping and that vicious little bastard scared me more than anything else I've ever seen. I can not blame those dwarves in the slightest.

HHmmm.... I think the title is supposed to be "DF non-logic", as "non-DF logic" would mean logic found anywhere but in DF... which may be a very interesting topic on its own - IE when did DF become your only source of logic/reasoning and the sum of all truth... a scary prospect.

When I noticed, that a single cat can feed a Dwarf for a few months.

I don't have a problem with water reactors. I simply consider them a homage to life and work of Victor Schauberger. I find "quantum-entalgement" mechanisms weird, tough.

When I discovered a lever can be set to open a door without any connection between the two apart from a couple of mechanisms.

it's the first law.
Oh. Right. I had in mind the no-entropy universe of Tron, for some reason...

Technically it's both laws which are used to punt perpetual motion machines out the window.

The first law says that all of the energy you can get out is exactly the same as all the enery you put in - thus the surplus energy generator is out, but technically a perpetual motion machine is still possible - put in a bit of energy, it starts moving, that energy is never lost (but taking energy out would slow or stop the sytem)

The second law is all about entropic decay - which basically means that no real system is perfectly self-sustaining: a portion of the energy produced is useless. Which means a perpetual motion machine (net energy production/consumption = 0) is impossible, since the energy will eventually... "break down" into useless forms.

When I discovered that dragons can't fly. I think.

Which actually obeys non-DF logic. Anything that big would require terrific force to be able to fly. A body that weighs about 80 kg (Like, say, a human; DF dragons are much larger and heavier, I suspect) would take wings with a wingspan of about 30 metres. And pectoral and back muscles about the volume of a large dog.

What's wrong with using magma? That's almost always the easiest method.
I have issues channeling it properly to do that method. I end up flooding the fortress with magma.

Are you trying to say dwarf fortress is unrealistic?

Honestly i still use non-df logic in df. i find it is mostly applicable it just need some, erm, minor alterations. Yes, minor alterations

Amputation is not a minor alteration. Especially a full body amputation.

My DF moment was when I noticed that all stone crafts start at the same weight, and no waste material is made. Where does the excess go?
