this one happened recently.

This time, I did everything to avoid tantrumings: a jail with many cells, and a 25-coffins wide graveyard.
I had a squad of 6 well-trained dwarves in glorious iron armour, accompagnied by my tame tigermen.
The first siege occurs: a single troop of lashers. Well, I know the power of scourges, but come on, they're goblins, right?

the whole militia is almost one-shotted.

I then pack all the dwarves I can in the dining room, while the other ones are being happily slaughtered outside.
Fun happens when goblins are forced to retreat after half of them got trapped in my elephants traps around the map.

But the trantrum spiral still comes by.
The new captain of the guard is worthless, and only 2 criminals were jailed. the goblin attack did more than 25 deaths (and all my good masons in it), and so corpses are still rotting everywhere... not to mention that a doctor went in berserk rage, and that inanimated dwarves were lying on the hospital's beds.

This one dropped my jaw...  I just recently started playing with the genesis mod.  One of the features of this mod is that male dwarves are anatomically correct, and can be injured in most hideous ways.

So I start a brand new fort in an evil biome, not really sure what to expect so I bring an experienced axedwarf along for the ride.  I notice upon embark that there are three ogres wandering the map... So I start digging hoping that I can get a meeting hall done before they notice me and attack.  Didn't happen.  So I tell Urist McAxemurderer to go kill the ogres.  He manages to make short work of two of them.  The third one though... oh man...  I saw poor Urist fly about 7 tiles before hitting a tree and exploding into half a dozen pieces.  The combat log looked something like this:

-Ogress grabs Urist McAxemurderer's phalice with her right hand!
-Ogress shakes Urist McAxemurderer around by the phalice, tearing the muscle!
-Urist McAxemurderer slams into an obstacle and is blown apart! 

I was so flabergasted I forgot to take a screenshot.
