From what I vaguely recall from a Q&A someplace. Yes it is xna, and yes they hope to eventually.

Don't quote me though, I'm not much for console gaming so the question didn't interest me enough to chisel it into memory perfectly.

P.S. Dude, guitar reptile is hypnotic.

I'm just wondering what are the chances of playing this with my more console oriented friends. Some of the fools honestly believe that anything pc can do, console can do better, and I am beyond trying to change them, and just leave them to twiddle their thumbsticks. Regardless, they aren't griefers, so we could get something fun done. Always good to have people you know on a server.

Edit:  You folks tell me you should be left alone on a mountain top.

I got to admit, this game would be epic playing on my big screen TV with my roommate splitscreen.

The splitscreen might be a problem though. Unless they have the ability to play with controllers in the PC version. It's not hard at all to add controllers to an XNA-based game.  Adding the support for multiple players locally and splitscreen might either be trivial or a headache depending on how they've set out their code so far.

That's one feature I'd love to see done well though... :)

I want split screen, and am willing to pay an extra 50 for it.

Bleh, splitscreen. Just stick two separate lan-connected computers right beside each other.

Though I'm probably biased, there. I still get horror flashbacks to th'SNES and suchlike and their tiny, tiny, four-player screens. So very small... Multiple moniter/computer setups seem much more pleasant, nowadays, and not terribly expensive (especially if you can just plug a TV or something into a laptop or spare computer or whatever.).

Other folks have mentioned the real trick, though, at least for the PC. How to do two separately moving cursors at once? I don't think I've ever actually seen that on a PC, though it sounds like it might be interesting for more than just games...

I'm sure someone could design an app for that. You'd need two mice(mouses?) for it though.

Sudden desire for a rail shooter where you duel wield revolvers, with one mouse for each gun.

It's rather easily done in-game, since Windows treats each device separately, and you can read input from them separately as well. You can only have one "windows" pointer on the screen (AFAIK, two mice will "fight" for it), but two pointers in-game. At least one game I know - Hammerfight - can use up to four mice connected simultaneously for multiplayer duelling.

Also, yes. A rail shooter like that would be awesome.

Then again, why "rail" shooter? Two mice should have enough buttons between them for a decent mecha-themed shooter, each controlling one arm, wheels setting throttle/turn, button3 on one for jumping, on another for something else, and fire/alt fire for the remaining buttons. Plus keyboard controls for other things.
