And it doesn't offer any big rewards. I just do it because it's fun and an easy way to level up cooking. You might want to convert when you get what you want (weapon, pet or artifact) from Mani of Machine.

I once got a rod of wishing from my farm though.

Well I had like, 10 seeds, but got impatient and planted them before I got my gardening skill up.

How do I tell how close I am to getting things from Mani?

When you make the last sacrifice needed to get the reward he is supposed to say "Truly, you are an ideal believer. I'm impressed." but he won't say it again if you make other sacrifices. So pay attention to that while you are sacrificing stuff at the altar.

You can also try savescumming. Pray and if you don't get what you want use the older save.

Indeed. You should convert to another god when you have received all of his rewards. Lulwy's good for the long term, but since you want to grow artifacts and seeds, just convert to him for now.

IIRC, converting to another deity will make you lose the ability to make seeds out of rotten food, so yeah.

That sounds a little interesting.

For Gods I ended up going for that one which likes ore or something.  I think I got the Golden Knight or whatever it is- As I haven't played in awhile I intend to breed myself a new character, if that works...

ALWAYS get your stuff identified first.

NEVER do a quest >= your level. You always need to be stronger then what it says.

NEVER wear cursed stuff unless you don't have access to a scroll of uncurse and it has some stupidly powerful attributes.


For that level there is a very nice way to handle it. Those blue slimes? They spill poison when hurt/dead. Have a few white putits between you and one of those in a small corridor and use their acid to kill the majority of the monsters. Just make sure you can tank a white putit.

Or get grenades. Everything becomes easymode once you have a grenade.
Shurikens are pretty snazzy too, they can cause bleeding which is great damage.
