You said "safe" and "magma" in the same sentence.

Forget it.

I was about to mention the error in the title, but then someone got to it first.

Seriously, think of the game you're playing.

"Magma safe" is alot better.

Here are some ideas for a magma safe:

A magma-fall, with a floodgate with water behind it  next to it.

If triggered, the water will seal the safe and your artifacts will be... Safe. But most likely on fire, if you didn't do it right.

A magma-fall, which is triggered on and off via floodgates and levers.

Or, it could mean:

A safe in which you keep your precious magma.

A safe, made of magma. Not very effective for storing purposes. 'Cept pain, and death.

I'll take a safe made of magma. And put elves in it.

You should ask the elves about this sort of thing.

I've been wondering how to get an orbital magma cannon that drops magma over more or less the entire surface of the world.

You know, in case of emergencies.

You should die horribly for this. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Dwarf: BURN THE OCEANS! SCORCH THE SKIES! BOIL THE LAND! BWAHAHAHA!

Elven Trader: I think you said that in the wrong order. You obviously can't boil land, it's a solid object.

Dwarf: It's easy to boil solid objects. And entertaining!

Elven Trader: How? It's not possible. Fire can't get that hot!

Dwarf: ... *shoves elf into magma seas surrounding land surrounding area* Told you so!

Elven Trader: YOU SICK BASTARD!

Dwarf: MUHAHAHAH

Elven Trader: YOU BURNT DOWN THAT TREE!

Dwarf: ...

Least destructive?

I believe it is similar to saving some magma, until the next visitors. That or just some bad booze.

This is Dwarf Fortress. Where torture, enslavement, and murder are not only tolerable hobbies, but considered competitions.

Seal your dorfs in and set the whole fuggin world on fire. It looks ridiculously cool!
... Or make magma smelters/forges, if you haven't already. Being able to smelt ores by looking angrily at them is pretty rad.

And finally, if you're feeling really dorfy, use it in a mold with water to cast a large obsidian object, which you preferrably drop on someone from high above. It'll even leave a nice stamp on the ground, due to the obsidian being counted as natural walls. Just don't forget that it'll hammer right through any floors with impunity, since i've forgotten it multiple times myself.

...

Oh wait, you said least destructive. But don't tell me you aren't tempted. :P
