BG-Harvest of Sorrow

If someone knows another song like this, I'd be very interested in hearing it.

What, particularly, about it?
Something that is emotive, and preferably fantasy-based, and you can actually understand what the people are singing. Also if it were metal would be nice, though not essential. I listen to a lot of genres.

Tall order, I suppose, heh.

Edit:
How about some super-cool Filk music for the day? Folk style singer with more interesting themes.

Polaris/recall by Leslie Fish (although the words are Lovecraft's from what I hear).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MucUTwjHH6s

Jordan Reyne seems pretty great to me
Nice.

What about this:

Well, in that particular style, off the top of my head -

Nightwish - The Islander
Nightwish - Taikatalvi (It might, uh, be in Finnish. Just a little. Hope you speak it!)
Nightwish - Eva (This is a lot of Nightwish. Hm.)
Gloryhammer - Silent Tears of Frozen Princess (Keeping this list super serious)
The Magic of the Wizard's Dream (RIP Christopher Lee ;_;)
Sabaton - The Ballad of the Bull (Not really fantasy, though)

There are also a number of playlists of ballads in a power metal style.

Edit: I forgot one of my favourite bands!

Orden Ogan - Requiem
Orden Ogan - The Ice Kings
Orden Ogan - And If You Do Right
Orden Ogan - The Candle Lights
Orden Ogan - What I'm Recalling (This one swings out a lot further into metal, but it's still Orden Ogan's characteristic clean vocals)

Song of the Bear Clan is badass as all heck. Especially cool because I've got the third book in that trilogy in front of me right now.

I've heard the Islander before, Arx - it is indeed lovely. The rest, bar the Sabaton one, I haven't heard! Many thanks. I'll look through them.

Also, after Strife's post I've found the Filk genre. Time to succumb.....

This one is the first filk one I've heard proclaimed as such: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98Tr5H1jvQU

I keep meaning to read them. I take it you'd recommend them? I heard about them through those songs originally.

I haven't read the first one in the trilogy, but I enjoyed the second one and third's been fun thus far. Mercedes Lackey doesn't write anything subpar, in my experience.

I've edited a few more in there, for the sake of keeping them in one place. If you know the songs I've edited in, I'm afraid you will come under suspicion of being a doppelganger and I will be hunting you down.

Get out your hunting gear, Arx, you're going to Northern Ireland :P

Edit: I looked into their songs after I first heard them. Funnily enough, it was the song in your sig I heard first.

Edited Edit: Hey, we're all mad here in Bay12, aren't we? Remind me if I stop grinning like a buffoon.

Seconding Ayreon, it's pretty much a prog-metal+some ambient+opera. Can be a bit cheesy in places but part of the charm. Has a weird sci-fi metaplot.

Also later stuff by Opeth, Damnation, Heritage and Pale Communion in particular if you don't care for 'suddenly leldefmetal'. Or everything else if those are 3soft5u. Fantasy-ishness is a bit contentious - if you want only straight up Tolkienesque, then nope; if gothic-horror-y themes are fine, there you have it.
