Although not heavy metal, Falconer with Mathias Blad has some very good, clean vocals. For a power metal band, to boot.
An old classic from them.

I can't really do as much with this post as I'd like, but I have to stop here and go to work.  I won't have another chance to write on this for another 9 hours.  Definitely looking forward to hearing Floor Jansen sing some Nightwish songs.
Hmm, that's... not too bad actually. She's got a lot more range than Annette, and in the hands of a capable band...

Okay, now I'm curious to see if this goes anywhere.

I'm assuming everyone who would be interested has already heard about this, but still;

There is a new Godspeed You! Black Emperor album.

I'm interested but I haven't heard about it. Thank you!

I suppose I'll leave a song while I'm here: Swans - The Seer Returns I'd highly recommend this album.

Why are there no popular heavy metal bands with "clean"* vocals?
Lots of power metal bands have clean vocals: Avantasia, Rhapsody of Fire, HammerFall, Sabaton.

A little something called Carnival of Kings.

Perfect for a jester-themed villain in a D&D campaign or something like that.

He did say "popular" ;)

On a vocal note, currently enjoying some low-pitch oldies: Tiamat, Type-O Negative, My Dying Bride...

Edit: Oh god... i've descended into the decade of good music again. Okay.

IMO those are popular. And you get used to harsh vocals if you listen to them enough. Then you'll start liking them. Then you feel oyu want more and more. Troll
