The hell is wrong with you.
Hey there, no need to be so hostile! He was simply pointing out the fact that the majority of players play the game for its combat aspect, and don't appreciate being outnumbered because several of their team-mates are effectively a non-entity on the battlefield due to the time-consuming nature of their construction projects.
I can see his point; Minecraft Creative mode (or Survival mode, whichever, although Creative is free if I'm not mistaken) is probably more suitable to making nice looking constructions for several reasons; there's a bigger variety to the blocks, hacks allow more freedom in creative mode, and above all you don't contribute to the unbalancing of teams, which potentially takes away some of the enjoyment for other players. I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with this, just that Sheb wasn't attacking you personally - as you seemed to assume. And taking on an aggressive tone like that is doing nothing but creating the sparks for a flame war :( Fortunately, I think these forums are nice enough that such sparks would not have ignited an unholy furnace of internet rage, and a relaxed, mature conclusion would've been reached.

TL/DR; Please play nice.
Cool constructions by the way. By far the most creative I've seen (although, I can only compare them with dick drawings and swastikas :P).

Here's how I see it honestly: 1~2 people on each team building objects that serve no purpose- okay, would be better if they realized this is a war game with building elements
3-6: people on a team building undefendable structures that don't help all that much- Irritating when they all stay in their bases and the remainder of the teams are actually trying to play the game as it was designed
7+ people building structures that are indefensible, serve no purpose, and complain when they are destroyed in a battle- Seriously guys, this isn't minecraft.

Also: I don't think we can really apply the term "Griefing" to this game, barring instances of people switching sides mid-battle to screw over the other side's stuff and then going back to their original team. If the other team breaks your stuff in a battle, boo freaking hoo. Did you really thing the giant, incredibly colorful building WASN'T going to draw fire like a magnet?

Yeah, actually, they're really looking good. I'd totally spend my times defending them and even helping you in-game*. I was more worried than aggressive, thinking that if you enjoy creating so much, maybe you would be better off in Minecraft, where your construction won't get destroyed after a few minutes.

*That's if we're on the same team of course. Otherwise, your construction are fair game to be destroyed.

Just trying to get into this, and every time I try to join a server it show this error message: "Server Connection Failed: It's either full or misconfigured"

What's going on here?

Holy fuck this game is awesome.

I joined in, and started shooting people. helped build a trench, then got shot. some dudes were building a fort, so I built a bridge and a tunnel to a valley.

I felt really good after doing that.

Then I started trying to mark enemy positions without dying.

And then I failed.

I'd prefer the arguing to stop, at least the nasty side of it.  It's possible to discuss things like this without it getting out of control.

edit: removed the argument posts above, as people were still reporting them

What's going on here?
filling servers people
Ignoring the rest...
All the servers I tried had more than ten open spaces, and reloading the page rapidly showed that as pretty stable. I don't think population is the issue.

The main site says to try using IE. Will Firefox 4 work, or do I really have to go and download that to play?

Ace of spades is brilliant.  There are some issues with hacking, they are being worked out slowly.  Whole thing is run on a free-to-download, donate-if-you-want deal.  My tf2 clan have been having great fun operating as a squad using steam chat.  Check the game out, you wont be dissapointed

I'd recommend it - it's free, assuming you've got a few megs of bandwidth hanging around, so there's really no good reason not to try it.  :D

Mind you, if seeing a big "YOU WIN!" screen is your objective in a game, you'll probably be disappointed. To be philosophical, it's more about the journey than the destination; to be literal, it's more about goofing off, building stuff and blowing away highly-pixelated heads than about winning. (Does the game ever actually end? I've seen maps where the intel was constantly captured by a couple of people on one side, but I don't remember the game ever ending because of said captures.  ???)

Intel is just motivation to go into the enemy's base.

There is no end. Sever crashes and server resets are the only end.

Info is for points (I do not do this, and wish there was a way to separate kill points from info points. I can respect 150 kills. Most of the time if you have 15 info caps, I am unsure if you are good at this game, or boring enough to cap the info the safe and easy way. Cause, so long as you do not mind spending like 15 to 30 min digging, it is almost impossible to really defend the info.) and to locate guys on the other team, which I will do if I am having issues finding them, and will gleefully hunt them down if some one else on my team caps the info.
