you know how silly would Death look if he punched ppl into the oblivion?

no. my Death has a scythe and a sword that he uses to reap souls

but i assume it is impossible to make him spawn with that scythe and sword in world gen?

Isnt death supposed to like touch people and they die, just poke em with his finger. the scythe is used to reap the soul from the already dead body

You obviously havent read Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels have you?                      though it has nothing to do with this....
anyways, Discworld's Death doesnt kill people, he sort of escorts souls into... what ever is the next stop, cant get that right word in my mind now.

But yeah, my Death will have quite lethal touch also when i understand how those syndrome and poison and other cool things work

oh btw, can i make attacking require other skill such as Pacify or Butcher?

damn its hard to create "balanced" creature.
I have most of Death's attacks done now but i still havent made him killable. Slade is way too tough for any weapons.
What ever i try to strike him with, even grand master hammerdwarf with lead warhammer cant crush it's skull, it can only get dented

Well you could always make a new metal based off adamantine with changes to: the solid density, preferably between 8250 and 100000 (bismuth density to adamantine sharpness), and the shear/impact specifications. Then make him outta that, and voila he's hurt by adamantine and other miscellaneous god metals. (These are Slade raws for future reference:

but thats the problem. Death isnt killing, he is just poking


oh and btw, seems like 102 elves in full adamant gear is making some progress. Death has all it's bodyparts in red except left and right foot

atleast is kind of amusing to see all those elves swarming around it. and there were about 50 archers with 200 arrows shooting at him.
A. Adamantine arrows=light=bad ammo.
B. CotCan Death? And I thought bronze collosi were bad...

I was working on something similar to this. I have a custom humanoid skeleton body and a fully working creature. They appear in groups down in the caverns, like the other cavern dwellers, with steel scythes, shields, robes, hoods, and sandals. I was going to do a load more work on them but got distracted by real life and never went back.

This post has them in their "final" form. You might want to have a look. I got some decent advice in the topic too which might be helpful.

Give him dust breath. Then you can make his entire body brain, and it wouldn't matter.

For his "Deadly Touch", I believe I had something like that once... Give me a moment.

Ah, here it is, the "Touch of Shadows"-poison from my Shadowlings (they were made for DF v0.31.16 though, I'm not sure if they'll still work) And yes, I know most of the syndrome is pure sadistic torture (like rotting away the eyes)

To make it kill faster, go to the line with CE_NECROSIS and replace "EYE" with "BRAIN" and remove "RESISTABLE" (I think) You can also increase the severity numbers. (Though I'm not sure if it does anything if it's >100, but it never hurts to overdo something) You could also just instant-necrosify the whole body.

IMAGE: Night. A steel-clad dwarf alone on a hill. A lean, tall figure shrouded in a cloak walking towards the dwarf. The dwarf takes on a battle stance, two battleaxes ready to cut of some limbs. The shrouded figure extends a bony hand and touches the dwarf with a single finger. A single gasped breath. The dwarf then collapses to his knees and falls over. Zoom in on face: His face is visibly rotting away, moments later only his skeleton and armor are left. The shrouded figure is gone. [/IMAGE]

Now to inject the syndrome I used

I hope this works for you, it's been quite a while since I last used syndromes. I believe you also had to link the syndrome up with a fluid, but I can't remember how I named it (though it had a fixed temp of 0, so it'd kill you even if you resisted the poison. Might be worth considering for your DEATH)

I made a grim reaper once. Basically, it wasn't meant to be a physically challenging opponent, so I gave him fairly weak attacks. However, since he is made out of steel, it is very hard to kill him without cotton candy tools. I thought it was fitting that that metal was the only one that could harm death. However, I gave him one very deadly tool. An evil venom called liquid death. Almost every attack releases clouds of death that can be inhaled, liquid death that comes into contact with the enemy's skin or injects it into their bloodstream. I designed it to provide a slow and very painful death. The grim reaper taking revenge from beyond the grave.
