The Cutter is awesomely fast.
Hunters Blade looks fucking amazing, there is no way the other 5-star items can hope to match that. Especially with the five-hit combo.

I've found that I REALLY dislike the cutter class of swords. Mainly because it has low knockback and higher tier enemies will continue attack animations without getting flinched by the cutter's blows.

Heavy swords are actually the practical weapons for the higher tiers. Attacks are slower and there are less hits, but the hits that you DO land do great spike damage and have huge knockback.

Charged attacks from heavy swords also usually shoot projectiles.

The hordes of t2 enemies require a weapon that is highly mobile. I really can't use charge attacks, and cornering enemies just wrecks them. I suppose I'll have to try out more heavy weapons and t3 stuff to judge, but comeon. That thing looks brutal.

I tried a cutter, didn't like it. I got rid of it and went back to 3 swing swords.

I use two swords from the Brandish line. The shadow variant (Silent Nightblade) and the ice elemental variant (Blizzbrand). The shadow does bonus damage against slimes and gremlins, and normal damage against beasts. The elemental one does bonus vs constructs and undead, and the one I have is a medium UV vs Fiends so has a bonus on them too.

Constructs and gremlins seem to be some of the more annoying creatures to fight, so having swords that do bonus damage against both is really handy.

The charge attack from the nightblade isn't that great, but the freeze from the blizzbrand's charge attack can really be useful. I was solo on the last part of one of those arena levels where it spawns a ton of those constructs all around you with several healer gremlins to keep them alive, and the charge attack from that sent out the two little freeze bursts and let me freeze the majority of the robots and maneuver around to kill the gremlin healers (using the nightblade, but eh damage types). The healers didn't even move, they just sat there throwing heals at all the robots I had damaged in the charge attack. Sometimes the charge attack and bursts damages them so much that the thaw damage finishes them off.

Well, I just earned the Dauntless Delver achievement (go from level 1 to level 29 without dying.)

Highlights include - Seeing a monster I'd never seen before (the Wiki identifies it as a "Sloom" - a sleep inflicting lichen.) It popped out of one of those monster cages that litter some levels.

Getting down to 1/2 a pip of health in a wolver den, immediately followed by an arena (interesting note: if you're below 3 pips of health, you're healed up to 3 on the elevator.)

Having such idiotic teammates that one of them managed to die on each of the three parts of said arena.

Getting down to the new scarlet castle level, and having all three of my teammates die in the first room (it was at this point that I went solo and locked my team.)

When I got down to the core, I had 3 super-health pills and 3 normal health pills left in my inventory (because you can never be too careful.)

Overall though, it wasn't too very difficult (the final levels were all beast, and even tier 3 wolvers and chromalisks arn't too tough, compared to some of the more nasty critters you can run into down there.

The only achievements I'm still missing are the high-level miner ones, which I'm in no rush to get.

Anyone want to play right now, so I can eat up my Mist Energy?
Preferably a T2 run of some sort. I'm cool with Jelly.
I'll also try T1 if we're gonna do one of those first tier bosses, as I've yet to see them. I've heard due to the game's balancing though, 5* weapons will actually end up being weaker than tier appropriate weapons so.. Yeah, that'd be kind of lame.
Add Tazurin on Steam and message me, or post here. [The latter might get a slower response.]

I missed you by 2 hours... and I had some work to do so I didn't start playing until 2 more hours later. Though at this point I don't think I can avoid dying for a full T2 run though. I too have never met the T1 boss.

Well, I just earned the Dauntless Delver achievement (go from level 1 to level 29 without dying.)

I saw you playing last night with 2 people not on my friends list, so I figured you were playing with your pals and didn't join you.
I'd just be one of those idiotic teammates anyway ;)

If you want to fight bosses, this is the time to do it.  The Dark King Gate is spawning lots of boss... I just killed Snarbolax with 2 new players (1 stars).

Also energy price is soaring... over 5700 now...

Woooo, It really paid to invest in Firecrackers, I've made 35 000 crowns and counting. The ones without buy prices are just climbing up the first page now, some of them already at 3000 crowns.

Well the market is way too full now, but I put most of my bombs for sale in the last two days, so the end time would be closer to the time the achievement went up.

But the materials still don't cost much (red shard 25-50, brimstone 10-25), so with mist energy crafting they'll likely go for a profit still.

EDIT: Started with 2000 crowns today, bought 3 different 4-star recipes and the materials for crafting them and I still have 72000 left. I've now sold 39 Firecrackers for approximately 3000 crowns a piece. There's only 6 more to be sold. Twas a pretty good day.

The new boss is certainly quite a trip. The levels down remind me a lot about Vanaduke - lots of environmental problems that try to kill you.

The boss(es) themselves are a lot of fun. You've got to get the two turrets to slam each other with their attacks while keeping off all the trash mobs that keep respawning on you.

I managed it solo (not intentially, the rest of my guild had their own instance, and surprisingly, no pubbies joined me.)

It's quite a bit more intense than the Jelly King. I wonder if they'll bring in some new Jelly Palace levels to make up for the fact that they're much easier than the new boss levels.
