Bees in Games
« on: April 05, 2011, 12:06:49 am »

I'm interested in games that have bees in them. If people PM me the names of some games featuring bees, I'll post them here this weekend (the games, not the people).

The games (not limited to video-games) should feature either bees or interesting bee-inspired elements. Any kind of bee is good, wasps are fine too, but flies or other biting insects don't count.

Once the games are in, I'll try to put up a poll to let people vote for their favorite game-bees! ... game.

Some Examples:
The Best?: Dwarf Fortress v0.31.25
Good: Stronghold 2
Nice: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
No Good: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

EDIT: Nothing based on the DreamWorks film please.

Bees? There seems to be a distinct lack of them in games, but check out Antrush. I'm sure something there is bee-inspired.

Fallout New Vegas has mutated bee/wasp monsters which terrify all who have the misfortune of stumbling upon them.

Tenchu!

In those games as long as no one notices you angering the bees, the bees will target the closest person and KILL THEM in a single sting! Sometimes multiple people!

I dare anyone to find more epic bees in a videogame! Though the bullet bees get close.

In Super Mario Galaxy there are bees. You even have to massage one.

A Tale in the Desert had a decent bee system, where apiaries did better in isolated areas away from people

Entomorph: Plague Of The Darkfall.

Set in an AD&D world I never heard about, giant insects have taken over your island and you have to join the revolutionaries to fight them off.
Featuring you taking over the body of a giant workerbee (or maybe they're wasps, I wouldn't know) and infiltrating a hive to kill them queen. If I remember correctly, you even have to solve some puzzles involving pheromones and that silly "dancing" bees do to communicate.

Hmm...games with bees? Aside from some old school side scrollers (like Doctor Jeckyl and mister Hyde for the..nes? snes?), I don't really know :O
We need a BEE game.

An official mod for Torchlight adds a "summon bee swarm" spell. The devs recommend teaching it to your dog so that when it barks it can shoot bees.
