I can't take that seriously from someone who still uses IE. Come back with a real browser (or spellcheck) and then we'll talk.

Life is much easier to take when you embrace mediocrity.  :)

Yeah, normal. Do something about it.

Contribute to the world. Learn to be an engineer or scientist or accountant or someone who does something useful, rather than those fellows who make money by exploiting the concept of money :P

Also, it may take you a while to figure this (I know it took me some time) but the heroes like in D&D games don't exist. Nobody kills 20 orcs solo, and nobody invents some epic thingy solo. The Nobel prize is actually the work of a lot of people, where one person takes credit. These computer science breakthroughs (Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Skype, Youtube) are either the hard work of a lot of people or someone who got lucky, often both.

Get a good goal, work at it, but don't find an unrealistic goal. You can be one of the thousands of people who help in changing history and inventing the first space elevator or whatever.

Hey, not many people do too many things with their lives when they're 13. They're too busy with school, home life and their social life. You're young (like me but even more), you have plenty of chances to do stuff. Concentrate on getting to a point where you can reasonably do it!

The only constructive thing I did at that age was reading. A lot.

First, 13 is when you should have an idea of what job you want to do, so think. Got it? Now think, "What skills do I need to do this?". Got it? Now do something to practise and learn those skills.

For example:

I want to be a Software Engineer.
I need to be able to programming
I am learning Java.

See? Simple. Also, read, read LOTS. It's funny, when you can amaze people by saying "ornithopter", and then later that day, they ask you how to spell "acid". True story.

First, 13 is when you should have an idea of what job you want to do, so think.

I personally think this is false.  13 is when you should be learning everything you can, so that you'll have more choices in life.  Specialization can happen later.

Agreeing there.
Our country let's you pick a school, which let's you specialize for a subset of jobs at the age of 14.

The result?
A lot of people wasting 4-5 years (depending on school), being unhappy and then doing something entirely different.

Dune?

That feeling of wasting your life gets worse when you get stuck with a dead-end office job.  But you'll get numb to it after a while.

You are your avatar, aren't you?

OP: Do well in school. Honour Roll isn't hard, try to get that, then when you finish school you should be able to get into a good program at uni, then get a good job and travel or do whatever you want in your time off. Reading is goo as well.

I agree. At 13 noone knows enough to make an informed choice in that regard*

Come the time for university/formation/whatnot you will still have no certainities, but at least might know enough to weight the pros and cons of several options

*(not saying that you won't meet people who say that they knew what they wanted to be since they were 9. It might well be true, but it's likely more because of wanting to imitate parental role models than a conscious decision).

Jeez. At 13, my career and life's purpose was the last thing on my mind. Go play Pokemon or something like the rest of the kids your age! You're too young to be worrying about this stuff. :)

Quite frankly, your expectations for what you should have done by now are too high.

Ed Boy's right. You're not going to be able to acomplish something massive in a day. It's alright, you have plenty of life left to live. You can do something major over the years.
