Currently, you want her to be Squad Booster and in system, while having a qualified squad commander in system (The commander can be the booster). She doesn't have to be on grid, she can just sit in a safespot and you still get all the bonuses. That might change soon, though, so watch out.

Which BC you go for depends on which Command Ship you'd eventually like her to be in (Command ships being the logical endgoal for a fleet booster). Right now, T3 cruisers are better boosters than command ships, but I think that's gonna change in the summer patch.

For CCP, "soon" is "we will start maybe working on it sometime in the next 18 months".

Did we switch to a medium POS? Did you figure out how to keep the system fueled and otherwise bring in the rest of the stuff? I cant log on right now, way too much work and can't afford to be distracted, but these are serious questions to be addressed if they havent been already.

Also, LordBucket's 3-17mill/site estimate is sort of disappointing... once the current site buildup is gone, it might be a struggle to just keep the pos funded with such site income...

There is always a scan ship in the hangar, always.

Note that several of us (Anja, Alisa, Kaye, etc.) are not in Magma Forge. As such, we cannot access the hangar. I parked a scanning frigate inside the shield. Everyone, feel free to use it, but please keep it in space inside the shield and not in the hangar.

Im gonna be parking my alt in the WH today if all goes well.

Might be worth training that alt for a week or two worth of scanning skills

LordBucket's 3-17mill/site estimate is sort of disappointing...
once the current site buildup is gone, it might be a struggle to just keep the pos funded with such site income...

1) Significantly, as a class 1 wormhole, it appears to have only one static exit. While this means no needing to defend against invasions from other wormholes, it also means no sorties to those wormholes for profit. It took me 20-30 minutes to clear and salvage each site in my Drake. It would be faster in a group of course, but that also means the loot is divided more ways. My impression is that the system would be very appropriate for a solo player in a tengu. Not so sure it's a good system for our group.

2) Either way, I think the primary source of income was supposed to be from research, not sites.

3) Planetary Interaction

Have you found any mining sites ?
Tons of grav sites.

Yes, also ladar sites with gas clouds. I checked one last and it had about 18 million worth of gas.

Did you figure out how to keep the system
fueled and otherwise bring in the rest of the stuff?

Gather 2-3 people inside the wormhole with a couple hours to spare. Have one person fly in and out until the wormhole collapses. Scan down the new exit. If it's sufficiently close to Ordion, move goods over. If not, repeat.

I've pointed this out before, but it seems like the general level of courtesy in Bay12 Eve has diminished over the past few weeks. It's been getting so bad lately that I occasionally close the channel while online simply because I don't want to listen to you people insult and cuss at each other in all caps for hours at a time.

I'm not sure how many others feel the same way, but I'm going to be the one to say it: If this is really the direction the channel is headed, if Bay12 Eve is really going to be about how many swear words and insults people can shout in all caps...I don't want to participate in that.

I suggest people think about what sort of channel we want to have.

I'll apologize for myself LordBucket if anything I've said offended you at some point (I'm Pierre ingame). I honestly know what our expectations where for civility in chat. I'll try to watch my mouth from now on.

As for the WH, comp still seems adamant to use a large POS... well, I'm not paying for anything POS-related beyond my initial investment of 100mill anymore, until there's a sane and sound economical plan working. In the meantime I'll probably just chill in the WH space and maybe do a few sites to recoup my investment.

I've never been on to see all-caps flaming towards one another, so I think that may be a bit of an overstatement. Maybe it's gone on while I was offline or otherwise unaware of what was going on in chat.

There are certain members of the corp who disagree with one another on certain things which they feel need to be addressed, and I agree that we could endeavor to keep a more civilized discussion at times. I have decided to stop arguing over things that I disagree with that don't affect me (WH PoS), as I know my comments are unneeded and only serve to frustrate those who strongly oppose my views. It is my belief that members of the channel could go a long way in fostering good will if they (me, Lasik, especially) would keep to themselves in matters that did not involve themselves personally.

Of course that's just my view, feel free to disagree :P

Re excessive swearing, I am not aware of that, but then again I am online during the odd hours, living on the other side of the planet. I got the impression that certain members like to play around using swear words; however, other members could feel offended by their use.

Re arguments, they are to be expected and managed. It at least shows our group is well diversified. What we need is better planning to avoid making the wrong decisions and avoiding internal friction.

In the meantime, if anyone is up for L4 in Ordion, please let me know.

So if I set her as squad booster and squad commander, it should cause no problems right?

What command ships OR t3 cruisers are considered good for boosters? I am thinking I'll have her go Drake -> Tengu, but I have nothing to base my decision on other than the survivability of the Drake.

On the subject of the POS and WH unhappiness...

A lot of people are upset about it for one reason or another, but what is done is done. The choice now is to make it work, try to move it, or leave the hole for your own adventures. I don't think anyone has issues with anyone else making one of those three decisions. The problem is when people try to aggressively convert someone to their way of thinking or talk in the open channel about how foolish other people are.

I'd really, really, like to see this stop as well. Splitting into factions is a sure sign that the end is nigh for a B12 group.

Have you considered Command Ships? They cost much less than a Strategic Cruiser and easier to train.

Bucket, I had said it in game but I guess you didn't notice. There were two wormholes in our C1, one to the current low sec exit, and another that I scanned down that went to another wormhole.

The large tower is a must, anything less is inviting problems.

This week I have a lot of opening shifts at work, so it is going to cut my time severely. I will be on later in the day then my normal early time.

As for the chat, yeah you are over reacting a bit. We like to be foolish sometimes and use all cap nonsense. I am not going to be all serious business all the time. But if that's not your cup of tea, eh, I can't help ya.

Just because there is only one static does not mean there can't be other WHs, you are just not guaranteed others.

Who told you Command Ships are easier to get into then t3s? For a t3 you need cruiser 5 and some support skills that you should train to 5 anyway before flying something that expensive. For CS you need cruiser 5 AND battlecruiser 5 and (at the moment) some more skills. Cruiser 5 and bc 5 will probably be merged into racial bc 5, but you'll need the warfare skills to 5.

For boosting you need to have leadership at the required level. If leadership is 0 you can't give a bonus to the squad.

For which ship is good for boosting, that depends on what you want to boost. They have different specializations. The t1 BCs can fit 1 warfare link module (same as field command ships), if you want more you need command processors, these are medslot modules. Just park the drake at a safespot so it needs to be scanned out. I think, the t1 bc don't have any bonus to boosting, so it doesn't matter which one you use.

Would Drake -> Tengu be a good path for Sedias? I really wouldn't mind sitting her in missions and letting the rats bang on her shields a bit, but I am not good enough at multi-tasking to really do more than hit her shield booster from time to time.

I have been trying to read up more on Incursions and see how far off we are from a 10-man squad. For those apparently Battle Cruisers are passable and advanced cruisers are recommended. We might be able to work it out but we would need serious tanks on everyone.

Plus, if it goes wrong, it goes way wrong. At least in the HQ sites, when they are shooting at you, you are warp scrambled. We could lose the whole fleet.

Also, I would not expect anywhere near 100m an hour in those sites. I am thinking we can risk it all on a National Mining colony.

http://incursionguide.wordpress.com/2011/03/19/nation-mining-colony/

We would want at least 2 logis (I would prefer 3) of the right type (shield or armor) and the rest of the ships seriously ready to tank.

Right now what we are looking at is

Logies:

Name: Cernunnos
Role: Logistics (Armor?)
Ship: Guardian (Level 5 skills)

Name: BurntPies (Anja)
Role: Logistics (Armor?)
Ship: ??? Needs a lone

DPS:

Name: Fikes(Thrawn)
Role: DPS
Ship: Abaddon (Tech 2 Pulse)

Name: LordBucket (Lady Kaye)
Role: DPS
Ship: Abaddon (Tech 1)

Name: Forsaken
Role: DPS (Drone)
Ship: "Any Gallente Armor tanked"

Name: Tyg13
Role: DPS
Ship: Megathron

So we need 4 3 more DPS in a hurricane or above and (hopefully) 1 more logistics ship. Everyone else post the best thing you can fly, even if you need a lone to pick it up.

I am going to try to talk to the Warp To Me guys and see if they are willing to help us get a fleet put together. Honestly if we can get most of the ships and we are comfortable tagging and running the assault sites we can probably pull in extras just from the Incursion chat.

There is one Incursion going near Amarr right now, it will probably be up another day and a half.
