Assuming that I had a great amount of free time, as well as lots of research and tutorials, could a n00b who's only played a couple of hours years ago do that buy a subscription with ingame moola thing in the X days allocated in the trial, assuming that I had a referral?
I wouldn't, it would just remove the fun. Worry about paying for subscription with in-game ISK later on in the game, as it takes a lot of effort to get enough within that first few weeks. If you would like, I could send you a referral, and if you do decide to pay, I'll split the ISK from it with you 50/50 (approx. 225 million ISK).

I killed up a 1.2 billion isk Legion today.  He was fit up with a couple hundred million worth of deadspace gear.

He was not happy.  He went into a very, very fel mood.

It's probably worth mentioning that AnimaRytak is the only ecstatic dwarf in the entire fort.
Quick, check him for rum! The bastard's probably spirited some off to his lair office, to act as pleasant refreshment as his evil scheme unfolds!

I'm going to be trying out the free trial of the game, and I would like to know what item/resource/whatever would fit this description:

1.) Capable of being gained in large amounts by a newbie

2.) Useful to/wanted by higher-level players

3.) able to be sold for a decent amount on the market

Also, sorry if this is considered a bit of a Necro, I didn't want to make a new thread.

Minerals, I suppose. Skip the veldspar asteroids, go for omber or other, more valuable rocks. The only problem is that they are more common in low-security space, which is of course more dangerous.

Well, that shouldn't be *too* much of an issue. I have 3 other friends who will be backing me up.

We're all going to sign up for the free trial during summer break and get some referrals from youtubers that offer them so that we get some extra time.

That will definitely help. Still, be ready to flee at a moment's notice if things go south :)

Let's see...

It looks to me like Spodumain, Bistot, and Crokite are good targets. Now, these are all found in large amounts in low/null-sec space?

You guys should get referrals from me because I'm awesome, not some random Youtubers.

Should be. Not sure where, and every system is different. In general, the lower the security, the more valuable the minerals.

To my delight, I'm finally a part of the CFC. I decided to join a really great corp called "Enlightened Industries" in TEST Alliance Please Ignore. If there are any other CFC members who also frequent the forums, PM me on Bay12. I'm curious to see how many of us are in the same alliance/coalition.

Scratch that, I'm going to be targeting Hedbergite and Gneiss. Which one is usually bought/sold in the largest amounts on the market?

I'm a long time lurker who has registered just to tell you not to mine. Seriously, don't mine. And somewhere above they told you not to mine veld, which is wrong. Still the most profitable ore in hisec but plag (or pyrox? idk) is rapidly spiking due to noc prices. Hed and gneiss are lowsec/nullsec and you will die. When you are not dieing, you will not earn enough to recoup the costs of the dieing.

Really, don't mine. It will ruin the game for you. I think you can make upwards of 15m/hr mining veld in hisec with a hulk (which you won't be able to do for several months, a lot of training). At this, peak mining rate, you will still need to mine for about 35 hours straight to make enough for just 1 plex (30 days of game time). You will find out just how boring mining is, requiring just enough attention to not be an AFK activity, but so little attention that you won't want to actually watch it.

Your best bet is to join a corp that does hisec incursions and train up to fly what they want from you. From what I understand 100m/hr is actually fesable. Not to familiar. Trading can be great too. I went from 100m to 2b in about a month and a half doing simple trading runs. This requires an alt to check prices but I guess there are programs out there that make eve-central usable and can eliminate the alt requirment. With trading, keep as much cash in play as possible. Money in your wallet isn't earning more money.

Seriously, don't mine. I mine but only as a side activity while watching a movie on the second monitor and only to use the minerals in my own manufacturing processes. I hate hauling trit.

There are also a lot of restrictions on what a trial account can and cannot train. Your money making potential will be serverly limited whilst on trial status.

I Concur. Even with 4 of you, someone with experience and a decent ship will hang you out to dry in losec, and hisec mining is both dull and dominated by guys botting in Hulks.

Incursion running (Specifically vanguard sites, I think) is hands-down the best money maker in hisec, but it requires reasonable ships (Battleship, HAC, Logi, T3) and experience. Stick to missioning, occasionally fit a pvp frig and go looking for trouble in losec to get experience (Had some amazing moments doing that. Flying a Retribution and tanking some guy flying a Dramiel in Tama being the best one.), and look at Incursions when you have the skills to fly the ships they want.

I just need to know of a useful item that can be gained in large amounts by a newbie. I have a scam plan, and I need a decent amount of useful (not necessarily valuable) material.

whatever it is it:

a) won't work.
b) has been done before.
c) is blatantly obvious.
d) doesn't work like you think it does.

There are static complexes in hisec which are farmed by people in battlecruisers usually. most of the loot is left lying. You can gobble it up if you want with minimal risk. I checked out one in deltole and each wreck had a 10 cap boosters and a small or medium frequency crystal (10k - 100k each depending on type). The boosters are worthless but the frequency crystals are 10 - 100k each depending on type if you want to haul them off i think. You could also salvage said wrecks and not risk getting blowed up for stealing. They may not be worthwhile to salvage though.
