I liked it, but that has to be one of the stupidest reasons to invade a planet ever, especially given the large ice moon in our system that isn't crawling with incredibly violent and incredibly pissed sentients.  Also, the ships dropping out of the sky at the end was pretty odd.  You'd think that at the very least they would have enough of an autopilot to land properly.

The trailer did not impress me. I mean, aliens are coming in to do what. Kill us all? Don't they have nuclear weapons? Can't they just neutron bomb the planet and take whatever they want after a year without any casualties whatsoever?

My wife had the best explaination. "Sport shooting." Ha ha, honey.

Hmm, so worth watching then?

Is it only in 3D, or can I see it in normal vision?

The main reason to go is for the eye-candy.

It wasn't in 3D at the theater I went to.  The newer 3D glasses don't hurt your eyes though, so if the option is available there isn't much reason not to go for it.

Main problem: it is impossible to make realistic movie about alien invasion that will also earn money. So we have lasers and idiotic mechs.

Oh good!
It's not eye hurt, it's just that I'm blind in one eye, so nothing is 3D to me.  :P Even with the glasses, 3D movies are some what blurry.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I was beginning to wonder, amidst all the noise and the gunfire and the chaos and the shouting, whether Battle: Los Angeles weren’t the action-SF equivalent of Idiocracy’s Ass... and then I realized: B:LA may be about invasion, but it’s not about aliens: it’s about us. This isn’t science fiction: It’s a bleak fantasy about karma being a bitch. It’s about collective cultural guilt.

Looked at from that angle, Battle: Los Angeles is fascinating.
So, is it?

I second this

...Didn't seem that way to me.

B:LA  was a blast to watch.  No muss, no fuss, no "deeper" allegories, just gung ho military patriotic blowy-up type action.  If you were looking for anything else when you went to watch this movies, you went there to dislike it in the first place.  IMO of course.

It was an awesome action movie, but not particularly accurate. Camp Pendleton is near San Diego, not L.A.
It's like five minutes away in the movie, and why the hell are Marines using Huey's still?! I mean, really! Plus, oh god the amount of Soldier Sterotypes...

Admitedly, I couldnt understand why they left San Diego to save LA also, considering that you here from the news peeps in the movie that San Diego was also attacked.

Of course, could be that the marines were just a detached unit from Pendleton, and not the entire force.
