Well, I figure I might just list the contents of my wishlist. Has anyone played any of these, what did you think, and do you still play them?
I reckon I'll only buy one or two at most this week.

I'm pretty sure you can get all your enjoyment out of Surgeon Simulator 2013 by watching people play it on YouTube. I personally enjoy Nerdł's playthrough of it, though he doesn't play the final level (that I remember anyway).
I've played the demo of Risk of Rain, and it's really interesting. I've heard nothing but praise for it. You can check out TotalBiscuit's review of it on YouTube, he gives a good account of the game.
Running with Rifles has been discussed on these forums, and right now there's not a lot of people, and it being an MMO... doesn't help. However, now that it's on Steam (and I'm assuming it is because it's in this list), that will likely change a bunch and be worth getting (idk what price is being asked for though, check with the RWR thread in these forums for better feedback).

These I have played:

Risk of Rain: I call this excellent. There's a demo, iirc, so check that out. Do still fire it up occasionally, though I cheat like a so and so. It's fun. I've probably beat it over a dozen times so far. Couple times even legit :P

King Arthur's Gold: I think some folks around here like it? I played a little before it was pay or whatever, was kinda' interesting, but too early in the dev cycle to really sink into. No clue what it's like these days.

FATE: Unless there's a second FATE running around, this is basically an old diablo clone with just about everything that entails. More or less the precursor to the torchlight games. It's not terrible, per se, but not something I'd recommend. Aim for torchlight (or TL2) instead. Either are basically FATE but magnitudes better.

Shadowrun Returns*: Eeehhnn... I've got it. It's probably better now, what with player made content, but the original incarnation was less than glorious. Definitely not bad, but lacking in a certain oomph. It's also pretty low spec. Runs fine on a 2.1 ghz dual core, 4 gig ram, shitty integrated graphics card. Haven't played in a while, though.

Hammerwatch: I really liked this. Never got around to playing multiplayer, unfortunately, which I'd still rather like to do one of these days. If you remember and liked Gauntlet, there's a very high chance you'd enjoy at least a few hours of this. Definitely fire it up occasionally, though I still haven't sat down and beat it. It's pretty enjoyable.

Revenge of the Titans: Played a little, either a demo or something less than licit, don't remember. Was kinda' interesting, but a bugger to cheat on, which left me less interested :P Not a terrible TD, overall.

Oh hey, I missed Revenge of the Titans. So, it's a tower defense with a full-blown research tree. You can only research one thing per mission, and lots of the good, effective stuff takes more than one mission to get to.

Here's the catch:

The research paths are needed to beat whatever particular enemy type a planet features... immediately followed on the next planet by the complete opposite type, making all your research completely worthless. There's no way to tell what's coming up to plan your research other than either reading a walkthrough, or replaying an entire series of missions once you know what's ahead. Over and over again. If you want to metagame, I guess it's okay, but there's better TD's out there for free.

Only one on the list I've played is FATE. It's the definition of bland. There's no plot, no direction in items, and no endgame. You grind until you don't feel like it anymore, then you stop playing. It was utterly unsatisfying.
It had nice title screen and town music, thats basically all it had going for it.

King Arthur's Gold is one of my favourite games. I've played it almost every week for the last two and a half years.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP has interesting graphics, but not much game. I was kind of disappointed.

Retro City Rampage™ is fun if you can get past the vague map and occasional fiddliness.

Overgrowth is going to be awesome when it's finished, it does have some nice maps already, however.

A good 75% of those games are "play once for about 1 hour and never play it again" games.

If you like those kind of things, then go for it.

Well let's see.

Most of those I can't say anything about.

Legend of Dungeon: I don't have a terribly large amount of time clocked on this, but so far it seems like a curious take on a roguelike. Generally fun.

Surgeon Simulator 2013: If you've seen people play this game, you've seen everything it has to offer. It's a simple title, capable of providing simple bloody fun, but once you get through it there isn't anything else to do.

King Arthur's Gold: This one I haven't actually played, at least the recent-er versions, but what I know of it points to a generously fun mix between Team Fortress and Terraria. An odd game, but if you have a bundle of friends to play as a team with, it could be pretty good.

Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage: Haven't played this exact game, only the original VCD. This... isn't a game so much as it's a method of indulging your inner OCD person. It's not bad, but I suspect that its replayability is limited by its nature. You can only get a space station/hall/house cleaned so often and so fast. Like Surgeon Simulator, it's simple bloody fun at times, but it doesn't last.

Revenge of the Titans: The later updates with "free" research broke it. Earlier versions where your research was only limited by your money seemed to play out better, because your successes allowed you to progress faster. Right now, it's as was earlier mentioned. There is a fairly strict path you must follow in research in order to win, making this game seem like it took the worst aspects of competitive Starcraft and DOTA simultaneously. It's somewhat fun on the overall, and perhaps in survival mode, plus the art style is nice, but there are definitely better TD games out there.

Overgrowth: I'm only familiar with the early alphas personally, but I saw some of the later alpha footage as the features are showcased regularly. The original, Lugaru, was very fun to play, the unique combat system makes every fight a potential challenge. With the upgrades to the physics and fighting mechanics, I think that Overgrowth, once complete, will be a very interesting game to play.

RUNNING WITH RIFLES: This... well, I find it hard to judge a game like this. One one hand, it's fairly basic, and you have to hunt around for information on how to do a lot of things because the game doesn't tell you much. Somewhat odd controls, confusing camerawork at times, this all compounds to a fairly mediocre first impression. However, the game itself, on the inside, is a very interesting beast. Once you get past the initial impression, the game itself plays like somebody crossed Cannon Fodder with Battlefield 1942. Or perhaps Operation Flashpoint. And Soldat 2D. It evokes many different games for me (Counter-Strike?), primarily due to how it combines large-scale strategic combat with individual involvement and top-down perspective. It's an odd game to play, but definitely interesting and fun, even just against (and with) AI.

Thanks for the information, guys, it's helpful. :)
I'll make a decision in a while and get to spending some of my hard-earned money.
Some of those games (like Risk of Rain) can be bought as four-packs on Steam, which is quite a good deal- would anyone like a copy of the game if I end up buying it? I'd give one to my friend so I could play it online with him, but I'd still have two left if anyone didn't have the game.

I see what you meant about Surgeon Simulator 2013... I think that was mainly on the list for the fits of giggles it gave me when I saw it.
Interesting to hear Shadowrun Returns described as "low spec", too... tempting, tempting.

Risk of Rain is a very good game. Awesome soundtrack, a plethora of unique classes, and a variety of enemies.  There was a problem where there was some memory leak that caused the game to run VERY slowly if you played it for an extended period of time, but I don't know if they fixed it or not.  It was basically bullet time, which had the added benefit of making the game much easier.
I've only played the demo of Running with Rifles, but it was a fun experience, and would probally be funner with other people (I can only play single player here.)
The last time I played Fate was when I was around nine or ten, but I remember it as being a rather fun game that I sunk many hours into, through I never go that far.
Surgeon Simulator is much funner to watch people to play then it is to play.  Mainly because my hand always hurts after just a few minutes of playing it, and I can never actually break or cut anything open unless I'm using the drill.    So that might be me doing something wrong, but keep in mind that it is a game where the mechanics are based on the controls being the worst they can be.
I know that Running with Rifles has a demo, and I know that Fate used to have a demo, through I can't see one on the steam page.

Lone Survivor:  Haven't played a whole lot, but it's looking like a 2D Silent Hill so far.  Interesting and a little creepy.

Shadowrun Returns:  I am a Shadowrun fan.  I easily have around 40 sourcebooks and 30+ of the novels.  If you played the Genesis version of Shadowrun back in the day, you may be a bit disappointed.  I have heard that this game is more like the SNES version, although I have admittedly not played that one.  If you like the Shadowrun world, it will press some of the right buttons.  The Matrix implementation is ... lacking, especially if you played the Genesis version.

I'd say it feels like an implementation of a fairly linear pen-and-paper gaming session.  However, there is a good deal of modded content available too.

Legend of Dungeon:  I didn't really like it.  Found the controls a bit awkward and the gameplay wasn't really compelling.

Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut:  I didn't like it at all.  One of those "The plot is whatever you think it is" games, which always strikes me as lazy writing.

Sang-Froid - Tales of Werewolves:  Not bad, but again I thought the controls felt clunky.

Shadowrun Returns:  I liked it, but I'm not sure anybody who isn't a fan of shadowrun would.  The new Berlin expansion is quite a bit better though!

Revenge of the Titans:  Its good, but it had this annoying mechanic where the game would get tougher if you did well, so you are kinda better off if you do poorly on purpose.

In terms of sales, looks like Total War Rome 2 is on sale for 50% off. Opinions?

EDIT: I personally feel that it's better to wait for the inevitable "Gold" edition with Total War games.

Just wait for the 'Complete Edition' on sale. That money would've earned interest by the time the Complete Edition is out, meaning you can buy it plus some more games.

I have every Total War game minus the very first Shogun including all expansion packs.

Do not buy it.

Do not buy the gold edition of it.

Do not buy it for 50% off.

Do not buy it for 90% off.

That game is a train-wreck if you have anything even close to experience with any previous Total War title including Empire. It is not only STILL buggy as hell but is crippled by poor design choices that the developers ignored instead trying to shovel crap DLC into everyone's mouths.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

As usual I still have to say, I quite enjoy Rome II (a bit late since the flash sale is over). There's a lot of vehemence towards the game I just don't get.
