About 5 Floatune begin construction on a holding pin made out of the shells, with one side open up to the kelp tree. This will be high up near the insect, to keep it in its natural elevation. The top of it will be open.
Another 5 will cut up some soft kelp, and try to persuade the insect to come into the holding pin. If that fails, they will group up around it, taking care not to harm it, and force it into the holding pin. The holding pin, after the insect is secure, will be "girded" with strips of shell at the top, spaced out enough to let a Floatune through, but too small for the insect itself. These girders will not be secured too tightly, and should be able to be removed if 6 or so Floatune attempt to do so.
The rest of the Floatune will form a hunting party. 5 will act as scouts, 15 will hold the large spear, while the rest will hold the small spears. The scouts will search for a fish no larger than 20x the size of a Floatune, and then report back. The hunting party will use the following strategy when the fish is encountered:
The scouts will spread out around the battle scene, searching for potential predators that may be attracted to the action.
The 10 spear wielders will surround the fish, then corral it to the near by large spear. When it gets close enough, all 15 Floatunes will jet water in the opposite direction of the creature, thrusting the large spear toward it. If the fish tries to escape, it will run into one of the smaller spears surrounding it.
If everything goes well, the fish is to be carried with the spear still inside it back to the tree. It will be placed at the base, and workers will get straight to work harvesting every bit that can be used using "cutting" shells. Scales will be harvested to be used as decorations and Armour, skin to hold fluids, bone to form tools, and meat to act as food. This will likely take a few (insert turn time frame here), depending on the size of the beast.
Throughout this process Floatunes will "feed" on blood that escapes, to keep away predators from the great tree.
