You take off down the stairs and into the lower levels. It takes you ten minutes just to get down all of the stairs. When you arrive, you find a slumbering guard and walled off door. This will make it very difficult to get the ore. What do you do?

You decide to smack the guard upside the head with your... Well you don't really have anything. And you're a lot smaller than him, too. And people ususally only stay unconcious for a matter of seconds, and more than five minutes is cause for alarm. But you don't care, you punch him in the nose. The guard snaps to attention. You don't smell alchohol on his breath. Armok, sober on guard duty, how irresponsible can you get?

He's not immediately beating you. In fact, he doesn't even seem to think you're a slave. How sober can a man get? What do you do?

Thinking quickly, you entice the guard with thoughts of -giant cave spider silk- socks behind the wall. He deconstructs the obstruction without hesitation. You find yourself in the familiar stank of the mines. The guard searches the higher levels, and you the lower. You grab a pick while the guard isn't looking and venture deeper into the tunnels. You fill your cap with a plethora of assorted ores. Mostly native silver and hematite. You soon find yourself in the same predicament as you were in the beginning of the day. Staring at a strange blue ore with a pick in your hands and fear in your heart. It almost beckons you towards it, you already have enough ore to buy the dagger, yet you can't tear yourself away from the vein before you. What do you do?

You take a cautious step towards the blue metal. You decide to tap it to test it, it could lead into a cavern, forgotten beast, magma pipe, or something equally unpleasant. Bringing your pick back, you can barely hold it steady. As softly as you can, you tap the exposed vein of azure metal. Your pick shatters. Granted, it was old and rusty, but this is unlike anything you've seen before. You now understand just how valuable this metal could be, and why the mine was ordered shut down. A single crown made of this could bring hordes of theives and seiges, just hoping to get a taste of the immense wealth inside these walls. What do you do?
