Interceptor research is already in progress. Pick another topic. Your IC is used up, but the tactical bomber wings will be the new model from now on.

I noticed that Heavy Tanks was available to research.
*Slobber*
I'd sort of like to upgrade to those from my currently-assigned "tanks".
*Drooling over Heavy Tanks*

Call me weird, but I like my armored vehicles to have something heavier than a machinegun as their main gun...

Actually, I'm regretting my orders for Medium tanks already. I never realized the tech penalty for researching techs that were further than your current year, which makes things inefficient. We'll research those heavy tanks come '38, don't worry. :P

And for next up the research queue, I really need to see the years for this stuff, but I think Armored Railways and Field Artillery might be sound choices. Perhaps Pocket Defences as well, but I'm pretty sure that was another '38 research.

Starting '38 research in mid-late '37 is alright. It's generally not wasteful to be a year ahead of things. More than that is normally only worthwhile if you have specific plans to develop a material advantage which you then plan to exploit.

Heavy tanks are unfortunately a brigade attachment. You're stuck in a T-27 or a BT-5 (which Georgy Zhukov notably said was apt to catch fire from Molotov cocktails, 37mm AT gun hits, and "any other slightest provocation") until we can get better light and medium tanks researched. :P

Then I retract my previous comments and heartily request medium tank research to continue!

Deadmeat: there's always air doctrine, too.

Everyone: it's going to be a while until the next update. I'm busy this week so I can take a bit of a vacation next week, and so I won't have my desktop with me. I will, however, have my laptop. Since the pace of this LP is a bit limited and wartime is much more exciting than peacetime, I'll be doing a brief interlude next week from my other current game of AoD (which is on my laptop), using one of the alternate history scenarios and focusing on a single campaign: the Australasian invasion of Indochina.

On the 14th or 15th or so, I'll get back in action with the USSR.

Will do.

As a related aside, a piece on the role of tactical bombers.

It's time for an interlude! Since the USSR game is progressing slowly by necessity, I have (as I mentioned earlier) decided to play through part of my other present campaign in a much less interactive fashion, so for to get everyone excited for the combat that will eventually be a big part of the main game here.

So fired up by this LP of yours i got myself HoI3
My first reaction was WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY TECH SCREEN?!?!
I was familiar with most of the other stuff tho, and the tech tree isn't that hard to understand now, but i still miss the simplicity of the old one.Anyway, decided to take on South America as Brazil, should be fun :)
