On scorpia server as a frakking toaster. I must say this game is pretty fun, more so than EVE at least.

Also: any b12ers on scorpia when we blitzed the humans and took 4-5 systems in 1-2 hours?

Does anyone want to join the wing we've made on Tauron (Humans for the meanwhile). Buffalo we're called.

Also the mining system in this is rather interesting, you call in a mining ship and it does its business while you try to protect it from ever increasing evil.
I'll join. I'm pretty sure I'm on Tauron, I'm Cheese. I personally want to PvP with a Viper, but I'll probably end up getting an escort and a line ship eventually, though I'll come back to the Viper.

Doesn't seem to wanna load (on my shitty connection) so *Shrug*

Edit: Gets stuck on "Loading Player Ship", Performance monitor saying that firefox isn't using any bandwidth while its like this either. >.>

Edit: okay I can load the tutorial but if I beat it it goes into another load lock and if I refresh I have to do the tutorial again...and wtf playing the tutorial for the 3rd time halfway through it reset to the beginning of the tutorial.

You'll be playing the viper a lot, or at least the line ship only when truly necessary.  Those things suck down tylium like nobody's business.  Estimated that they take around 500,000 tylium per hour of operation for all their vast and varied ammo, and they are expensive as all get-out to repair.

IF anyone is interested I think I'll start a wing on us1(scorpia). I think I'll call it Soap.

Unless someone less already has one up and running.

Do we have a Toaster wing on Caprica yet?

Also, as far as I can tell, if you're flying an interceptor (or any light craft) and you're not using target-cam while in combat, you're Doing It Wrong.  Always, always use target-cam in combat, and not just for a better view!  For one thing, you can turn using WASD without the tilt screwing up your view, plus you'll know exactly where he is.  But not only that:  Even when using the right mouse button you appear to turn a lot faster (since your attempted turn speed with the right mouse button seems to be a function of how far from dead ahead you are).

While mining asteroids, or indeed while doing anything that isn't combat, you really owe it to yourself to fly in free-cam mode.  Otherwise it's just irritating.

Man those things make the game a lot less of a bitch to control.

Okay actually got it to load and played a bit, kinda fun... but the fact that I seem to have to download the entire thing every time i play kinda ruins the fun of it.

Uh, this isn't like 30 second load time... it takes like a half hour or more to load and since its using your connection you can't browse anything else effectively, or have you forgot that not everybody has a 1mb+ connection?

Oh, that sucks.  I wonder if you can make the Unity engine cache stuff.  The load time for me is like 15 seconds for the first launch, and like 5 for system transitions.

I spent a few hours last night in a makeshift squadron.  Turns out that even three guys in strike craft at around level 6 can take down a level-2 escort ship without too much trouble.  Five guys in strike craft are one big ball of death.  I kinda wish we'd headed over to human space to gank some pilots.  (This game makes me feel not-at-all bad about screwing over people weaker than me.  It's a welcome change.  My one code of honor is to leave people fleeing doomed outposts alone, if they don't engage anyone.)

It's neat to have two Cerberus computers, so you can have them active all the time, no waiting.  I've found that I like to bind my computer things to the arrow keys, because shift-number is irritating (it doesn't always pick up on the shift).

I also dreamed about red and blue targetting reticles.

It feels like your evasion stat is higher when you are moving faster, does anyone know if that's true?

Oh well, its fun if I set it to load while I go do something else, heh.  Also I see Scifi is now airing commercials for it.

And here I was thinking it was going to get shut down by whoever owns the rights to the rebooted BSG.

SciFi co-published this game. SciFi produced the series and hold all rights (and are doing another ill-fated spinoff right now set in the first Cylon War). So not a deal.
