"You two; enough talking about romance novels."

Also, Draignean, will turn for turn. :3

[Autosuccess] Taric's request and Dominiques addition is met with a canned smile and nod from both of them. "Of course, anything we can do to expedite your unfortunate detour will be done." The colonist leader replies graciously. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that she would have thought your detour a great deal more fortunate had it ended in tree.

James, harboring a bit of resentment from being locked in a drunk tank gives the security chief a tongue lashing. [Intimidate 2+1 Harrowed] [Security Chief Will 5+1] The man grits his teeth, attempting an ingratiating smile that shows too many teeth. "Colony hazard protocol 23b in regards to contagions clearly states that in all cases a unidentified foreign contaminant must be isolated for a period of no less than six hours. Considering the result of contaminants in question on yourself you can surely see why we wished to minimize the spread of the offending organism." There's a sort of grim satisfaction in his voice, and he's got you pinned down pretty well verbally.

The colonist leader cuts back in before her cohort starts a fight. "Again, we deeply apologize for the inconvenience done. For the duration of your stay you may rest in my own quarters. If you wish it I can have proper baths made for you as well as providing a clean change of clothing while the ones you wear are scrubbed. We would also be happy to provide any medical  your injured man requires as well as the necessary vitamin shots, boosters, and leech needed for your time here." She seems charming, normal, and very anxious to get you out and bundled off to anywhere but here.

"No thanks, we don't need your quarters. Besides, it's hardly gentlemanly to sleep in someone else's room in these circumstances. We also need to get somewhere quite quickly, so I doubt we'll have time for baths."

"Anyway, can you give me a large flashlight and show me the way back down to the outside? I still have to get something from our ship that Tardan forgot."

"No, we don't need anything. We won't bother you anymore. Anyway, what was it you forgot? I'm usually bad at remembering the sorts of things. I guess I'll come with you." He turned a defeated look to the security chief. "I guess you got me there."

ooc: Dude, you're cramping my ability to put the redhead of exposition in!

The colony leader and security chief exchange glances, and the woman immediately agrees. "Yes, though the light should remain good for another ten hours before the storm comes in. We can provide you with light sources and have people escort you to the wall where you arrived and out of the city in less than half an hour."

If everyone is okay with leaving you may exexute Tarran's plan for a hasty amscray.

Alex shrugged. "I'll leave once I get a book. Does anyone here sell them?" she asked the woman.

All

Everyone agrees with leaving quickly, the colonist leader assuring you that all will be taken care of. The Armed colonists try to look more like some form of honor guard this time rather than prisoner guards, they fail pretty miserably.

Colonist Leader and Security Chief, after you leave.

"Well if that wasn't the most surreal thing I've been through since the jump I really don't know what was." Neira finally relaxed in the chair, letting aching hands finally tremble. "I need a drink, what's your take Curt?

"Drinks are good," he replies with the ghost of a smile "and you didn't see them when you were tripping on spores, they weren't a patch on that." Curt stands, pacing slightly. "The one who was still unconscious, they never paid much care to him, didn't even ask for additional medical." He stops suddenly, trying to pull precise images out of memory. "Hell, none of them were half as beat up as when they arrived. The arbiter I can see, they're fighters. Everyone else was a glorified softhand, running through that forest, being chased by a swarm, they shouldn't have been that fresh."

Misha nods, sipping at her water and thinking. "The arbiter, she wasn't telling the whole truth, something in the eyes... Whatever they were here for it wasn't parts for a ship. Damnit, for that matter why were five of them with that kind of rank just waltzing out of the ship, like you said I can see the arbiter, but the others?" The woman puts a hand to her head. "The more I think about this the more of a headache I get, something is wrong and I can't see what. It bothers me."

Curt stands behind her, massaging both shoulders with the ease of practice. "Easy love, count your blessings. The idiots have left, they'll be gone within an hour, and with luck the waking woods will kill them before they've gone halfway back to this ship of theirs. They don't even have leeches for the day, they're doomed."

All

Trol wakes from his mini-coma while you wait for the things you requested to be delivered to you. [Sanity 2] His first comment makes it clear that a little rest was not exactly what he needed. "Of course he likes pastrami!" He snarls angrily at taric and stares at him for a good ten minutes before becoming obsessed with the back of one of his hands. After a couple of minutes of waiting several boxes arrive for Taric, one with parcels of strange food, some water, and a medical kit. The other contains an assortment of parts, [Mechanical 5+1] they all look pretty damn worthless except for making pieces of novelty jewelry. Dominique receives a small data storage device which is supposed to contain three romance novels, [Luck 5, 1, 4] one pirate romance, one mystery romance, and one space pirate romance. The person delivering the device to an arbiter looks as if he's sure he's the butt end of a practical joke but is too scared to refuse.

The same lift that brought you down from the wall is going to bring you back up, you know this because it has a dent in the rails where Trol landed on it. Your group boards and gets seen off by several colonists, just getting out to greet the day of work ahead. The lift snicks up and within a minute you're back on top of the wall again, boarding the lift down. Once it settles at the bottom and you depart it clanks back to the top, leaving you back in the woods with nothing really gained except for some food and water and drive full of trashy romance.

You sincerely hope that the spores on the people who decided not to bathe have faded enough that hell won't come chittering down on you. Again.

(Taric gains, Basic medical kit, Box of terrible scrap components, 5 colonist rations.

"We'd better hurry back to the ship while there's light. Taric, do you think that radio's working?" Dom asked, trying to remember what direction they had come from. If we could find the passage Taric burnt, I'm sure from there we can find the melted mite corpse. Unless the ants ate it. If they didn't though, we might be able to get back from there.

"Taric, stop it. Get your ass back here!"

Grab Taric and drag him along while trying to use his radio.
