Survival sims
« on: January 30, 2011, 11:59:03 am »

I have Robinsons Requiem and Dues, love them both. Played stranded II (maybe I aswell but I don't remember).
Anyone know any good survival sims? (not zombie survival or browzer based)
Also played UnrealWorld, loved it but am looking for something different.

Thanks!

On the NDS there's Lost in the Blue I&II. They're really not good games, they're really hard because they're both micromanagement hell. But you wanted survival sims... :S

I'd recommend the predecessor to lost in blue.

Survival kids for the gameboy.

Stranded 2. The main storyline is interesting, and surviving on a small hard island can be extremely hard. However, if you choose the largest size island, its fairly easy even on the largest island.

Pretty much anything can be considered Survival. Doom is a survival sim, Iji is a survival sim, World of Warcraft is a survival sim, Minecraft is a survival sim, etc.

Although, smartassery aside, I also would like a good suggestion for a good free survival simulator. I really wish they could make more MMO genres then the typical "Fantasy world RPG" or "Space Fantasy world RPG". Why won't someone create a survival sandbox MMORPG? I could guarantee people would love it.

Free-to-play games are like the fountains in NetHack. At first, they look refreshing, but when you approach snakes pour out and eat you.

Wurm, Haven And Hearth, and I'm sure there's more than that.

first post man he already got his hands in it.
i found the lost in blue games hard as hell, its a bitch to keep up the unreal demands of yourself and companion. even training him/her won't be enough. by the time you can some convenientcy, the game is almost over.
