They probably don't actually work. They might be able to if the moving parts are made out of a gold alloy, but even that's suspect.

Also, I find it hard to believe a gun could have solid gold components, at least not the actual working components.  Gold is too soft to withstand that kind of stress.

Besides making the thing way too heavy to be practical.  I would think so, anyway.

That too.

Gold plate is fine, but actual gold is heavy as fuck and too malleable to actually work.  It's the same reason you can't have actual silver bullets, they'll come apart.

I imagine they could work, so long as any internal components that have to absorb explosive force aren't made of gold.  But they probably don't, and I'm not a major gun nerd by any stretch anyway.

I'd assume they were gold plated, because who'd be able to tell the difference without getting their hands on one?

So, despite the fact that he had a group of "virgins" serving as his personal bodyguards, Gaddafi had a crush on Condoleezza Rice.

A very creepy, sociopathically insane crush.

To be honest, that first one looks exactly like what would happen if one of those kids who covers their phone with the little sticky plastic 'gems' would have made if they got a gun.

Bullets coming apart isn't a problem. That just improves the terminal ballistics against flesh. And silver is harder than lead.

I posted this a while ago, but it bears repeating: They found this in Gaddafi's private compound.

While I can't say for certain this is relevant, but it's certainly awesome.

Killdozer returns.

Quote
"It's to clear dumped cars and shipping containers," said Gebril Ali, the burly driver from Misrata, a heavy plant operator in civilian life.

He expects to be shot at with bullets and rocket-propelled grenades, but reckons the vehicle can withstand that.

Heavier weapons might be a problem though.

"Maybe I'm not coming back," Ali said, suddenly reflective.

He then erupted into laughter that revealed several broken teeth.

"But my mind's made up. I'm stubborn."

This guy actually sounds exactly as crazy as you'd expect the driver of this thing to be.

Quote
A commander wearing a gold-braided ship's captain's hat sat on top and shouted directions as Ali manoeuvred up to the battlefront.

The craft smashed into a lamp-post.

It then came to a halt next to a mosque, and all scrambled out to go pray.

This is vaguely what I might expect a reporter watching a fight in Garry's Mod might turn in.

EDIT:
Quote
Asked about his headgear, he said: "It's my lucky hat!"
No, wait, not Garry's Mod, TF2.

Just reading through the latest Gaddafi news; apparently, his Amazonian Guard also serves to relieve his, and his relatives' libido.

He's a monster. He deserved to die.
