The arena is in shock after Hammerfist's splendid rise from lowly rookie to champion in just a few matches, and the demise of our most valued and resilient fighters. Still, life and death must go on, and the arena's role to provide the latter is anything but finished.
Tonight, we'll have a fight that isn't respecting the rules. A fight opposing two fighters of different ranks, who both agreed to the fight, despite the clear disadvantage of one of the two warriors.
On the left, lies Hungryman, a fresh human rookie wielding the morningstar. His name probably derives from the pieces of leather he wear as his only armor, made from the deep horrors known as hungry heads. His weapon and shield are made of the finest dwarven steel, and will hopefully provide all the protection he needs.
On the right, is John Falcon. He clarified recently that his sword is in fact a long one, even though they all seem small compared to the latest delivery of greatsword from the dwarven metalsmithing colony. John is a good fighter, competent with the sword and adequate at dodging, and he wears armor covering most of his body, with only his hands and feet uncovered.
To the surprise of the audience, Hungryman immediately takes the advantage by blocking John's first strike and bashing his lower body, bruising the human's digestive system so much he begins to vomit all over the ring. Apparently very seriously sick, John can't seem to retaliate to Hungryman's furious blows, and he gets more and more internal injuries as time passes.
John, at the threshold of consciousness for a remarkable time already, eventually gives in to pain and falls over. Hungryman doesn't cut his opponent any slack, and he burrows the spikes of his weapon deep in his back, paralysing him by seriously damaging his spine. Not satisfied with disabling John for life, he then bashes him forcefully in the head and shattered his skull in more pieces than the arena has spectators. It looks like Hungryman's future in the arena might be a rather successful one.
