Okay, good then. Now I have little concern for this mark on my chin.

Of course that might be just me. I still need to get some scar with an awesome story behind it.

Preferably also somewhere cool, like through the eye.

Does being stabbed in the abdomen count? Cuz if so, my girlfriend has a damn good one.

Sure it does.
I also think viewing it as an awesome story instead of a regretful event it might make the memory a bit less to carry.

Humans love drama, it's all we ever read. Why not apply it to real life?

Hmmm... does a bullet wound in the throat count? If so, my friend is going to be getting some serious props.

Yes. Yes it does. As long as you can prop some sort of dramatic story around it, however awfully told, it counts.
Besides.. Surviving that surely deserves some respect.

Every scar, be it from a papercut, surgery or scraping your knee is the result of a knife fight with 10 hooligans, who you fought off before one got in a lucky swipe.

The awesome story is that her boyfriend was trying to terminate her pregnancy. So she kicked the living shit out of him, then called an ambulance.

Somehow, I can't help but think that he didn't exactly think that plan through.

I'm going to try and be sensitive and simply say that events like that are pretty shitty, but at least she can say that she kicked the living shit out of him, right?

Of course, I'm quite sure I am not really to meddle in her affairs there. It's up to her to decide how she feels about that scar.

Let us not forget about other modifications, like tattoos. Proper tattoos can look great, although they are very easy to mess up.
I guess that's the problem with all "artificial beauty", at least for me. When done well, it looks great, but it's easy to overdo it or get a mismatch somewhere. Unlike evolution, humans generally don't have a few million years to figure out what looks best ;)

I have a few scars. There are stories attached. I don't find them cool.

Meh. The baby was fine. Else I wouldn't be telling the story.
