1) As an unforeseen effect of giving goblins natural skill in striking and biting in the mod I was testing, I could only recruit wrestlers from forts.
2) I was sent into unknown territory on a quest to kill a dragon.  Fortunately, I found a couple of hunters with crossbows who were willing to join me.
3) While sleeping in the wilderness, we were ambushed by a large group of heavily armed humans.  We manage to kill them all, but both of my hunters and all but one of my wrestlers are slain.
4) I head to the nearest town, looking for a safe place to sleep.  It's populated by hostile humans, all of them asleep.
5) My one remaining companion wanders off hitting sleeping humans with the armor he wrestled away from one of our attackers and gets lost.  Now I'm alone.
6) I head out, and take a short nap to remain combat-effective.  A small group of human soldiers finds me, but I hear them coming and wake up before they can attack.  I kill them easily.
7) I move a bit further from the town and take another nap, but mistime it.  Night falls before I awake, and a pack of bogeymen ambush me.  One of them promptly breaks my weapon hand.  As I flee in extreme pain, another one kicks me in the head and shatters my skull.

And if my companion hadn't decided to spend the rest of his life trying to beat a roomful of people to death with leather armor, about as effective as a pillow, I would have been safe from bogeymen.  Grr...

My last adventurer was punched in the face so hard by an ettin that it hit a wall in the cave and obliterated my head.

it was really an amazing moment because I thought for sure I could take the ettin out and it was a counterstrike.

I mostly die just by passing out from pain, sometimes blood-loss.

As an aside, I wish bogeymen either A: didn't have a maxed out natural dodge or whatever they have, but remain as deadly, or B: remained as fast and had literally swarms (20 or more at least) but were only as dangerous as unarmed peasants.  It'd make it more interesting for me either way if bogeymen weren't a death sentence.  I've landed a huge total of 4 hits on bogeymen since they were introduced.  They're more annoying than scary for me at this point.

If I don't make it back to town before night on the first quest, bogeymen rip me to shreds. :/ I wish there was the option to travel alone.

Most recently, I started as a peasant fully intending to die on the first quest and charged recklessly alone into a bandit camp, and killed everyone there by beating them with a silver short sword, no armor. Made it back to town, and got a random clothier and peasant to join my party. Many missions, battles, and deaths later, the three party members who survived were me, the clothier, and the peasant, and all of us became known as legendary heroes.

The peasant who came up from nothing would go on to slay two hill titans and a dragon with his strange band, covered in scars, missing a finger and a tooth. The clothier fought one handed, and the peasant had a permanently smashed foot. Eventually, was quested to travel halfway across the world and kill a zombie dragon. Got to the lair, and the dragon introduced itself and killed one of my party members. The weird thing is, I couldn't find it. I looked through the whole lair, all the surrounding terrain, and while the quest was still active, the beast simply vanished.

Disappointed, began wandering back towards civilization, deciding the fates were telling me to retire. Woke up to a goblin pikeman stabbing me in the brain.

Stab them in the upper body, lower body, and head. That usually does it.

You'd better fill it with elves to balance things out.

An arrow to the head...
I take on 7 goblins at once with only a bronze scimitar and leave un-touched, only to take an iron bolt between the eyes from a hidden crossbowman!

Using the Saecular mod... I decided to be a Kajiwi so I could fly. I thought I was unstoppable, until I came upon a bandit Kajiwi. I thought to myself, "Midair battle! Oyea!" and went up to fight him. Big mistake. He was obviously more skilled than I was. He severely damaged my legs before giving a deadly slash to the upper body. I gave into pain, then fell quite a few stories down to the ground. My entire body took the full force of the impact. I checked my description after that killed me. "His upper body is gone."

Ouch.  :o

Just ransacked a whole house of children covered in blood I wanted to clean myself so I jumped in a river and was mutilated by the currents. My lower body slowly drifted down the river while my upper body remained on a jagged rock. Ouch...

Based on how I die in game, in a fight, don't bother using some damaging martial arts techniques or finding a weapon, just kick your opponent in the head. They will die. Instantly.

I either have superawesome people or Weaklings. One of my adventurers 1shotted a minotaur with the like 3 hammers and 20+other weapons he had.
The next one got kicked in the leg and stabbed through the head with a silver pike before he could do anything.
Most of my deaths are form losing/being disabled in my Hands or legs(even though one of my adventurers had both of his hands cut off and lived to gather a band of 18 adventurers and slay a few titans.)
