Eggs of various types are being introduced in the next update, among them dragon eggs. Toady has been talking about what he's putting in the game here

The program you have on your hard drive doesn't magically update itself every time Toady makes a change to the version he's working on.  He's added it to the latest, most up to date version, but he doesn't instantly upload the new version every time he makes one change.

My question is, what do you do with them? I assume Chicken and stuff will will hatch, but how on earth do you hatch a dragon egg?

Probably has to sit on a hot tile (one above magma) for 3 years.

5. Cage elf traders.
6. Cage cats.
7. Put caged elf traders and cats in arena.
8. Put lever in arena to release elf traders and cats.
9. Make lever only usable by a hated noble.
10. Throw egg into arena (or shoot via catapult).
11. When angry dragon enters arena, have hated noble pull lever, releasing your caged victims.
12. Watch angry dragon rip apart all elves, cats, and the noble.
13. Laugh like crazy.
