The name would probably end up "Quarter Kilo Burger", whatever the non-american McDonalds call them, or just not changed at all.

Actually, in Denmark they do call it Quarter Pounder for some reason.. probably because it would sound weird otherwise.

I'm going to assume for the sake of civility that you didn't pick that as an example for the lolamerica value, and say that that wouldn't help at all. The name would probably end up "Quarter Kilo Burger", whatever the non-american McDonalds call them, or just not changed at all.

We use metric and we have the Quater pounder.
And yes, it was for the 'lolamerica' factor, but rest assured, I do that for any country I can get my hands on, home nation included. You should see my take on Italy!

We use the imperial system, and we buy 2-liter bottles of pop.
And of course drug deals are metric.

On-Topic: It's raining.

The cans come in 12, 16, and 20 ounces. But 2 liter bottles (67.6 oz) are a better deal. I'm sipping on one now. Do your cans have mL sizes?

Fluid ounce, actually. Fluid ounce measures volume, dry ounce measures mass, but they (might) have the same name because both values are 28.

A standard Australian coke can is 375mL, rather then so many ounces, and I can imagen that the bottles are cheeper, the same holds true here.

I'm in Texas  and its randomly been shifting between 90F and 30F  without any rhyme or reason

Texas as well. I wish for it to snow for more than two days a year.

Last year excluded. That was amazing, but I hate snow shovelling.

We Americans continue to use the Imperial system because it makes us feel smarter than the rest of the world. Even though most Americans don't even understand it... But goddamit, its American, so it HAS to be cooler!!!

Anyway, for all you folks not from the US, I shall use the metric system to describe the sheer volume of snow that has fallen in the Minneapolis-St. Paul suburb of Eden Prairie and surrounding area, where I currently reside.

Precisely 12.7 metric Shit-tons of snow per square meter.

For those of you not familiar with the Shit-ton, it is precisely 53.76489284934365747 metric tons

but seriously, we got about 3 feet in 12 hours. And it isn't done yet.

The advantage that 12 has over 10 is that it is evenly divisible in more ways. Specifically, 12 = 3*2*2, and 10 = 5*2. So 12 can be quartered, or thirded, or halved or sixthed evenly, whereas 10 can only be halved and fifthed. So that's the cool part of a base-12 type system. 60 (as in the clock, or degrees of angle) is chief, being 5*3*2*2, and has many ways to subdivide.

The advantage that 10 has over 12 is that fractions and multiples of base ten are very easy to relate to.

Also, still raining.

Everything would be better if we just had six fingers on each hand. But now that we are all used to base-10 it is not gonna change. Sadly, the same applies to the imperial system.

on topic:
Central Germany here, we had a nice amount of snow during the last few days. "Nice" meaning enough for a snowball fight but not so much that you can't walk through the streets. Personally, though, I'd prefer not to have any snow (or winter) at all.

so dwarves that die of old age in DF dont get shriveled and weak, but huge round masses of meat and fat that explode spectacularly upon their final birthday?

Now I'm just being mocked. It just started raining. Rain in winter sucks. It's like having to deal with the awkward brother of that cool kid you like when he's not home. No, I don't want to hang out with you, where is the snow dammit.
