As standard procedure uses baby shields I still sent my military in. Some swordsgoblin took off both of the legs of the baby. I let it live.

Systematically culled 90% of the fort's children and babies due to FPS issues. The resulting tantrum spiral killed about 200 dwarves. Oops.

Look on the bright side. More FPS now  :D

Not much, actually. There's a mahoosive waterfall on my map, I'm only up to about 20 FPS.

i remember back in 40d when i modded elves to breed. i would catch the parents of a child in a cage then pit them with a tentacle demon. then i would force the child to run around the pit which was lined with weapon traps with one wooden whip each. that way the parents were permenantly coated in the blood of their child while stuck in a tiny pit with a "friend"  :)

Probably conscription is the worst thing I've done - that and siezing goods and murdering elves because there was nothing else for my military to kill. On the whole I try to provide for my dwarves, though.

Baron execution. I baited a tiny closet with a cask of delicious alcohol in the form of 30 sunshine in an artifact barrel. He starved to death, deliriously happy, after I walled him in.

For the love of God, Montressor!

cycling my hammerer through a room with spike traps so he doesn't beat my useful dorfs to death (he'd use his hammer, but I had it taken away and melted).

down side. I had to do this several times until I got a spine injury to keep him in bed. while doing so, had one of them lose both his eyes...and his brain. oops.

I love it when "evil" turns out to be "stupid." It's very gratifying.

The evilest thing I've done in my current fort was seize the elves supplies, because they complained that there was wood in my offerings. After picking through to give them the right stuff and apparently missing some small item, I was pissed and just took what I wanted. I still feel a little pang of cheater when I think about it.

I just keep offering the same tower cap catapult part to them as a gift. hopefully they will take the hint and siege me.

What's that? My water supply is frozen over?

You mean those dozen permanently disabled dwarves in my hospital...

:'( How could this happen! We will mourn them dearly.

I uh.... I tried to make a Turkish Bathouse.

Good news and bad news: Good news is that I have a bathouse.
Bad News is that it flooded the ENTIRE bedroom area, killing 8 babies, 4 dogs, and a stupid miner.

Oddly enough, this DIDN'T result in a tantrum spiral. I don't know how.
Neither did the FB.
or the OTHER FB.
Or the goblin seige.

...the sudden lack of booze, mixed with a spinal-injured sheriff, however, seemed to cause the whole world to explode. Fixed it with a crack squad of dabbling hammerers with STEEL armor and silver hammers tho.

Well, walling in ALL human and elven traders until they died - annoying, as I'd have to build another depot and forbid the first one (so the dwarves would trade the next season) before they would die.  Also learnt to buy and take away all fresh food, to avoid miasma and it going to waste.  But they never got around to sieging me..

Now I have goblin races - if the animal handler can move the goblin from its cage to the other cage before the squad can kill it, then he wins.  Extra points if the goblin is missing a limb or two.

Worked out it was sort-of evil when I was displaying the most crippled goblins in the dining room.... One of them was missing both arms and a foot.  Made the dwarves very happy, actually...

I culled a bunch of them, and due to a legendary dining room, legendary food, legendary booze, fabulous bedrooms, the occasional waterfall, and general great quality of life, no-one dipped below ecstatic. So I carried on killing. Stopped when I first saw happiness starting to drop in Dwarf Companion.

Happiness didn't stop dropping. It's been two or three in-game years since then, I think, and still migrants are refusing to even think about coming to the cursed deathtrap of a fortress. I have one legendary pump operator (dedicated hauler), one legendary metalsmith/wood burner/generally does what jobs I need doing, three legendary armour/shield/wrestler/hammerdwarves, and a bunch of nobles. Progress on the megaproject is slow.

Oh, and a replacement Hammerer has just arrived. On top of the tantrum spiral, I've been freely ignoring mandates. Both of my useful dwarves are marked for death.
