I never get to tell stories. I'm bloody good at telling stories as well, but no-one cares about Norse legends, so I never get to tell them. -grump-

I had to learn stories with no relevance to modern society, didn't I?

To be fair, Norse isn't a dead religion, there are still out there who believe in them. (Just like there are others out there who believe in the Greek/Roman Gods.)  So yes there are people out there who care.

You'd be surprised. For every Norse tale where someone dies, there's a couple of bawdy tales where no-one is hurt (above the waist). I suppose that isn't really a rebuttal, depending on how you look at "something getting shoved down your throat".

I have to agree with Capn on this. Personally, when I find that something has gotten to the 'rank' of meme, its already lost its flavor and context. In my own eyes, stuff like this should only be used once or twice. After that, it loses it creativity and charm.
