Note to self: do not jump into pits you cannot see the bottom of. Even if low gravity negates fall damage, there may still be a 1-pixel puddle of lava that will totally kill you.

Rule of thumb: If you can't see the glow of a glowstick after you tossed one into it around the edge of your screen, it's generally a bad idea to jump in.

Eliminated all 3 AI knights, got the Plate Armor and the Claymore Sword, and I had 90 gold in my pocket. Then the dragon came and was like "Nope, game over." I was contemplating buying another life with my Scroll of Protection mere seconds before, but I decided to wait until I could sacrifice something less valuable.

Moonstone.

EDIT:

The dragon attacked THREE TIMES IN A ROW. It attacked me twice in the same day, and then immediately circled back on the next day. The game crashed when it loaded the third encounter, but I would have lost my last life in that battle.

Moonstone again.

Ballos's charge attack is simple once you understand its movement patterns. You jump over in mid air as he passes beneath you, then as he changes direction to try and get you in the air you jet a little bit to the right or left. Rince and repeat for the next pass he does.

Tried to play Dark Souls on the PC without a USB controller. Would not recommend. However, the low framerate did help my timing greatly, just not enough to compensate for the handling.

I'd rather just get my USB controller from home when I visit this weekend. After all, the console controls are what I'm used to for Dark Souls. And DS 2 comes out for PC at the end of the month...

Oh, and my brother let me borrow his DayZ login. I went to the hacked server of his friends, spawned in a basement with a bunch of modded hostile NPC's with hatchets. I bled out on the top of the stairs, just in time to see the aircraft carrier right outside, on land.

I was destroying the first stage of the Rebel Flagship with the Stealth Cruiser typing. I'd gotten it down to about 3-4 points of hull. I was almost done charging my flak I + Glaive Beam combo would kill it. And then it set my weapons system on fire while my cloaking was down. It had previously used a hacking module to lock my only Engi in my door room. The rest of my crew were mostly Zoltan's with a couple Humans. Not the best for fighting fires. One more volley of missiles killed my ship.

1 HP, sector 6, I've got a flak cannon, leto missile, and halberd beam on the Kestrel B.

Move to next sector, hoping nothing happens.

Enemy ship with teleport, and they beam right into my oxygen room...and promptly destroy it before I can even think about moving there.

The good ship Leonidas set a new high score for Beacons Visited and is the highest scoring Federation Cruiser B that I've had, but it wasn't good enough to get a win against the new and improved Rebel Flagship. Drones shredded me during the second phase of the battle.
