A slab labeled "Woe unto any that disturb the resting place of Par Ucidaseb / The War Leader is with Bolli Loli but watches still."

EDIT: Also, "Fataldeath the Grave of Bones", a night creature cave, and two adventurers whose last names are Spiraledspear and Humorhammer.

My first militia squad randomly rolled the name "The Creative Disembowelers". Quite appropriate to DF's combat mechanics, I think.

My current world in 40.08 is weird (at war with The Elves who Don't Do Anything, goblins who never show up, dead liaison who never once came)  so I created a new world.  In history, I have a dwarf named Asmel MinedMinds and one named  Sarvesh Kisschannel.  If he goes around banging every dwarfette he meets and sticking out his tongue, I'll agree that he's at least channeling Gene Simmons.

Also, a place called The Hill of Leprosy.  Make your own jokes.

So, I embarked in an area downstream from a place where a river splits in two, so this area is situated just between two river streams. It's a grand hill, with one stream flowing through it, and another one in a canyon about 20 z-levels below. The upper stream comes close to the canyon at one point, so that's where I've started to build a wooden longhouse... and block it off with a grand wooden wall, one edge to the river, and another to the canyon.
So, that's the main feature of my site. A wall between a river and a canyon, protecting a new fortress from intruders....

The randomly generated fortress name is Strangerblockades.
The founding group is named The Combined Cloisters.
And the civilization? The Walls of Controlling.

Now all that isn't hilarious, but extremely cool and fitting. :)

First artifact in my fort is called the Joys of Dangling. It's a yak bone pick with an image of horned melon vines on it.

I just made a world with Lazy Newb Pack for 40.09 and got the Deserts of Raining (then why is it a desert?) and the Invisible Desert.

Now I'm picturing one of those cat memes with "INVISIBLE DESERT"

My current fort sojourned from the great dwarven civilization: The Oily Razor.

If my civ was named that, I'd probably find a reason to sojourn somewhere else.

Our outpost is named "TradeBowl."  We have a nice football competition, but the trophy is kinda crap.

It's constantly raining, all the time. But drops of water fall in excess of over two meters apart if they ever fall at the same time, and it's often minutes or even hours between when a square meter of area receives a drop of water. This culminates to just under the limit for rain water per year to classify it as a desert.
So you could walk out in the nude and not have any water touch your skin over a 10 hour hike, despite it constantly raining and you not having an umbrella. If a drop does happen to hit you, it's not something that's so rare that you cry tears of joy over, though.

Just generated a world in Masterwork. The names of regions are all oddly sexual.

  • The Steamy Forests
  • The Squirting Hills
  • The Wet Forests
  • The Hill Of Tins
  • The Hill Of Depths
  • The Desert Of Racks
  • The Dune Of Breaching
  • The Glacier Of Busts

Also one's called The Wastes Of Profanity.
