Well, I haven't had any particularly silly place names (somewhat silly, but not enough), except for...

THE. TOWER. OF. PREGNANCY.

Innuendo aside (tall hard tower!) that is NSFW.

I've had fort names such as "Strokedtrumpet", "Safetyclasp", "Carnagecrafts", and "Moistenedchannel". With settler groups such as "The Romantic Sack", "The Large Tower", "The Considerate Knives", and "The Wet Salves". My friends and I like to make extravagant titles for said forts, and we ce up with things like "Moistenedchannel the Confederacy of Bathing" and "Strokedtrumpet the Fleshy White Meat-Hammers of Children".

I've gotten stuck on using the same group name now, was telling the gf about it, she doesn't play but loves hearing about all the awful stuff going on in the game, and I mentioned that one of the dorfs had lost a friend, a pet, and been burned horribly, but wasn't too bummed because they had a really nice adamantine door for their bedroom (was a fort from the cookbook thread with a 65 z candycane, so I just dug in and set up shop inside it, weeee) and she loved the "admired own amazing door lately" snippet.

So now I poke at the random generator until it gives me something related to portals or doors usually, and then use Avaltun, "The Lovely Doors" for the group name.

Recently genned a Masterwork world that contained a single ocean; 'The Pointy Squid'.  So of course I immediately went looking for a beach embark.  Found a good-looking stretch of coast near a Succubus stronghold, 'The Orbs Of Distracting'.  Unfortunately the game crashed and I lost the world

This is apparently what they call themselves, not just what everyone else calls them.

MWDF civ names for the kobolds; The Cheerful Chip, Succubus; The Dipped Evil, and the goblins called The Swampy Evils. The Succusbus and Goblins have stolen about 10 children in half a year right now and it will keep growing right now. The Cheerful Chip shall prevail in these times of kidnapping!
