"Are you aware of the high price of this prescription?"

My brother in Christ, nobody involved in this transaction knows what the price is till you punch it into the Point-of-sales.

I got a bag of Ludens cherry cough drops (basically cherry flavored candy) and some of them taste significantly sweeter/less sour than others in the same pack.

Presumably they were made in different batches (despite being the same bag) and one of the batches didn't get the proper mix of ingredients so they are a bit sweeter.

I mean, I used to get the German and Chinese news from domestic sites.  I'd shove them through a page translator

I am scared of translators sites.
Before you know, they translate 'I like you' into 'your mother wears army boots', and I would never know.

I went to bed shaking uncontrollably last night, woke up at 4am absolutely boiling and thirsty as hell, and now I've got a headache/slightly dizzy.

Pretty scary ngl.

Edit: wondering if it was dehydration. I've been drinking a helluva lot today without much need for bathroom breaks.

I'm sort of having mixed feelings about the current state of Google Translate. The translation results used to be hilarious and entertaining quite often, which we used to make fun of with my friends. But admittedly the current translations are much more useful in a serious manner.

Recursive translations are still hilarious. Take a moderately-sized block of text, translate it to a random language, swap the results, swap again, choose another language, repeat.

There was a site back in the day where you could type in a particular word or phrase, and it would pinball it through multiple different translation pages it was hooked into; repeatedly translating the input back and forth between English and a variety of other languages, before finally delivering the mangled corpse of whatever meaning had originally been inserted into the intention-grinder.

To my knowledge, the only word that managed to make it almost all the way through unscathed was "pineapple". It made it through every other iteration on the list (showcasing just how many languages around the world that use some variation of "ananas"), before finally meeting the final step: Japanese.

It didn't survive the process. What came back was "Fragmentation hand grenade".
