After weeks of being naughty about it, I finally did my taxes. Turns out I owed money on my state taxes, and my federal return only gave me a small amount more. Which is odd, since my late tax prep guy for the past few years never mentioned my state taxes, and there's nothing about it on my W-2. Also sucks, because I planned to upgrade my PC with my return.

And while dealing with the various emails regarding the e-filing of my taxes(I haven't checked me emails in months), I saw the email about transferring my Mojang account to Microsoft. I haven't played Minecraft in years(arguably, Vintage Story is better in many respects), so I wasn't entirely in the loop on that one. Heard about it, but largely didn't care. Despite having a MS account, I didn't remember the password, and was forced to memorize a new password for both accounts. Completely unrelated to my taxes, but nearly as stressful.

WTF. My pc just blue screened out of nowhere.
It tried to reboot itself, and then told me to insert recovery medium because it could not boot.

I turned it off and back on, now it booted normally.

I wonder if Russia is attacking Microsoft or something.

EDIT: ran lenovo hardware scan, all tests passed fine.

Really weird. I didn't have a pc bluescreen on me since, what.. the 1990s?

EDIT: in the task manager, system and windows module updater together are good for 100% disk usage now

Apparently, people are so angry at Russians (not the government, the people) that they are banning books by anyone from Russia. They are considered complicit for not stopping it, even if they are currently dead.

Here too, some orchestras cancelled Russian music and our hermitage museum is about to go bankrupt.

Stoli was already unaffected by the Russian vodka bans because it is, as the ads state, made in Latvia. There was some significant confusion because of the branding, which is the part that Stoli is now changing because the owner hates Putin so very much.

Also, you shouldn't get vodka from Russia anyway, unless you're using it to degrease an engine. Drinking vodka is Poland.

Having not read the article, I thought it was just Russian vodka being boycotted, but I only heard that on NPR about one company.

It is, but the word "Vodka" is so closely associated with "Russia" in the US that a lot of brands have used Russian-sounding names and Russian imagery on their labels that it is sometimes hard to tell the difference.
