Potato cannon is the solution I recommend. Ammo is naturally renewable, but if that doesn't suit you, you could also load it up with rocks. Just pick them up after they run away.

EDIT: Archery also works. Dear are considered a pest in most parts of the world so permanent solution is what you should be aiming for.

I lost a pair of earrings in my car, so I went digging around under the car seats for them today.

I found one earring and one spent 12gauge shotgun shell under my car seat.

Yeah, and I'm super salty the second one is gone, 'cuz it's my favorite set and I have no idea how you're supposed to replace one small stud costume jewellery earring when it has no branding.

maybe i'll just punch a little hole and thread an earring hook through the spent shell and call it a set

Ah yes, I imagine this would be a mini turret with flexible go to hook into your ear and hang upside down, scanning for targets by turning its neck, which would resemble an earring chain. The red light from their scanning would help you see in the dark too
