Is it just me or the gut stabber is way less intense than he used to be?

Well, as you get older you tend to mellow out about a lot of things you used to find all-important. Gut stabbing is a young folks' game, after all.

Holy shit bro, where were you raised? In the child batallions of Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army or somesuch?
Hate to bring it to you, but stabbing someone in the gut is not normal behaviour for children, or adults for that matter.

I was just thinking about online handles versus actual first names.  I hadn't quite realized how little people use my first name.
My friends tend to state things and then reply, very internet-like even in person, but also because we're a close-knit group so we don't have to be so specific.
My family might sometimes greet me by first name, but after that it rarely comes up.

It really mostly came up for work.  And since I was "released" into freelance, that's mostly by my last name.

I was watching a show with a character who has my relatively unusual first name, and wondering why I wasn't reacting.  I already knew I didn't care for it, I'm just kinda surprised how little anyone says it around me these days.

I... deleted a lot of my files by accident.
Oh jeez ):  Depending on how you did it, ctrl-Z?
I know it's small comfort, but thanks for reminding me to manually backup some stuff.
Seriously, I hate losing data.  Sorry for your loss.

Might be useless, but let's go through this:
Were they files in your computer, stored locally, or on a server?
If computer, have you tried re-indexing them with some tool like ntfs recovery?

Files deleted are just remove from the hd master file, but are still there, some programs can get them back in matter of hours.

If google drive dropbox or similar remember to fiddle around a bit, they keep deleted files around for a bit and you might be able to restore them.

Edit: Wait, what?
... Try using Windows explorer search function with "*.exe" or "*.docx" to search for relevant files maybe?
