Space suits don't really have to look fashionable. Then again, ANYTHING looks fashionable compared to the bulky NASA suits. I wonder if that's just the flight suit or the actual thing they'd wear in the acual near-vacuum of space.

Elon Musk revealed a new spacesuit design and the news is saying "it looks like something out of Star Wars". Which is patently false - the Musk one looks like the suits straight out of 2001 A Space Oddessy, all glossy and plasticky. The entire aesthetic of Star Wars was going against that, so just labeling any space-tech looking thing as "right out of star wars" is the opposite of correct.

I'm don't quite agree with the metaphor - more like what "military style" stuff from something like "Forever 21" is to army uniform.

I like the space suit. Specifically, the suit looks stylish and something people will want to wear which will be great for catching peoples attention.

The main difference is that you can walk around in Earth gravity easier with Musk's suit.
