Also I'm uncomfortable with the word emoji.

this is one of my favorite fun facts: the word "emoji" has absolutely nothing to do with the word "emotion" etymologically

I'm pretty sure everyone who has said "people still say dude" here counts as old people though.
True. I am almost a quarter-century of age, now. 'Tis a disturbing thought.
Pretty sure I've heard plenty of legit young folks say it too, though.
You are not truly old, until you feel like watching Bingo on television.
Or attending Bingo clubs, where you can win stuff like teapot sets or something.
(Half the elderly people I know of, are into that sort of thing.)

Guess my Nan is nearly 90 years young then. And lived through WWII.

i once said "🅱oneless" and got replied to with, and i quote, "putnam you will never be young again"

uh, looks like bbcode doesn't allow emoji, so rest assured that says "boneless" with this here emoji

UGH! I played another game for six hours (probably 5) just trying to see if there was a point to the game!

But no... It is just a mindless exploration game dressed as something more. Yet it isn't even a good exploration game or for me even a good game for me to turn my brain off.

The game is Yonder...

Now I shall annoy you by linking you to an article by someone who has a different opinion, though a similar assessment to your own. I will do this because I haven't played the game myself, so I can't argue with you myself. I also hope that by linking this I can show you a way in which to enjoy said game, or at the least understand why it is the way it is.
It's a link.

I know WHY it is the way it is... I am saying that I don't like it. It is shallow, the gameplay is uninteresting, the visuals end up running together, the navigation is tedious.

Just read this guy's review and you will know EXACTLY why you won't like it.

Though the Brewer Guild is mostly pointless... The ONLY thing you can craft from it of any importance are hair dyes.

Better yet TWO guilds are the exact same... (They just use different materials... But that is the only difference)

I could sense that Yonder was a REALLY REALLY different game while it was in development/drawing-board versus what it is now.

If I want to play Yonder except better... I'll play MySims.

Ps. NO way that guy is ever beating the game. He what? Just found the Brewer guild? So that is about 2 hours of gameplay.

Why I won't like it? Why do you presume that I wouldn't like it? There are people out there who do, I could well be one of them as far as you know. I will admit it doesn't seem like my kinda thing, though. And I already got that from the review, I don't need you to tell me.
It just seems to me that if you didn't want to play a game in which nothing happens, you should have done some reasearch on this game before you bought it. It's not a game you play to beat, it's just a game you play to experience it.

Why do you presume I presume that you'd presumably not like a game neither you or I have played in the event that we played it and I indeed didn't like it?

Not nothing happens... a point, a depth, a stride.

As I said the game closest to this that I actually do like is MySims (Bonus points that MySims is charming)

The issue I found is in the end all there is, is busy work. Which can work (Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley have a LOOT of busy work), it just doesn't in this instance.

This is fairly deep taken out of context.

Trying to put an app on my phone from PC over USB, using a random short cable I had in a drawer. Apparently the cable is so bad that my computer didn't realize anything was connected, although the phone did pop up a warning about charging slowly.

Again, kill it with fire.... Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Any manager who tries this on me is going to end up with it implanted somewhere else. I dare them.

Any physician who tries to use these on me and doesn't immediately drop the issue and concede unconditional defeat will be sued and have complaints filed with the medical board. If he does it anyhow, he will be civilly sued for battery. I will seriously consider providing pro bono advice to any and all of his patients who complain about him in any halfway reasonable capacity. I don't care. Scorched earth.  If he has so much as one "i" "t" or "x" undotted or uncrossed....

"The reality is, it’s coming and it’s coming soon," McMullan told ABC News. "And I think you’re going to see a whole new wave of people who are wanting to get into this.”

Has Truean gone off the deep end? 0 out of 1 interviewed bay12ers agree!

Seriously, a chip with no visible control interface? A security risk waiting to happen.
It's in your body? Well, at least we don't have the technology for interfacing with nerves yet... *recalls episode of White Rabbit Project* oh, wait. Kari was controlling Tory's body with things just stuck to his skin... basically a heart monitor, but in reverse. Well, with only one point of contact, rather than having the chips all over your body, you should be safe from having more than occasional spasms in your hand. Though you already hear about pacemakers causing problems when faced with other devices.
It has access to your bank accounts? COMPLETE AND UTTER ALARM BELLS. I don't like anything to have access to my money - I still bank face-to-face with the tellers, for crying out loud, despite my generation being the driving force behind digitizing everything. It's because, more than being social-media-savvy, I'm somewhat actually tech-savvy, and I know how easy it is for a device to be hacked; I know the banks claim their website is safe, but is MY COMPUTER safe? Absolutely not, I already know this. I have to blast viruses every couple months. Heaven knows if my phone is safe. I don't trust it.

So to summarize, it has no control interface and has access to your money, making it a major security risk, and it's an electronic device inside your body, so it could be overloaded to cause spasms or worse.

Yeah those Microchips are something I'd want to be made illegal years before it even hit the market.

I didnt read the article or all the rant.  But I got the gist.

Where and why will have a lot to do with how ethical or inevitable they are.

- An employer in an average first world country?  Thats going to get likened to slavery, simply because they can track you.  And beyond any privacy concerns, what about being likened to property?  What about the actual invasive implantation?  What about the power this corporation has now?
- The gov? hahahahahaha
- probation/parole?  Acceptable.

I mean, you all, with credit cards in your wallets, are complaining about people tracking you?  Yea?
Go call me on the phone and complain.
  Write me an email.
drive to me using your automatic transmission car with on-star installed.  GPS me brah.

Yeah for probation it probably would save a bit of money and be a LOOOOT more tolerable then the current method of house arrest (I'd probably prefer the chip over the current alternative)

But then again that is something that is kind of voluntary. (I guess it could be argued whether or not it is completely voluntary given the alternative is staying in jail longer... but still)
