I believe the the catholic church has carried out political intrigue.

Im not sure they murderate every person who calls themself pope.  Even if they had some super loopy legal window to make a claim.  Because that would imply that the donpope would have had a serious claim on it.

The Church has been a hell of a lot more involved in politics in the past. I don't mean the occasional pope who gets politically involved, I mean an entire structure of politics. These days, political involvement is pretty low, but centuries ago, the Church had a lot more political influence.

No idea about assassinations and all that though, but wouldn't be surprised if there were some powerful clergy in the past who did power plays.

When people buy jelly beans, they eat most/all of the various jelly bean flavors.  Therefore its possible that any of the jelly beans cause cancer.

Except the black ones.  Nobody eats those, so its perfectly possible that they don't cause cancer.  We can rule those out for now.
